Date: Lesson 2 2nd form

The Topic: My English Alphabet.

The Aim: - to broaden pupils’ horizons;

  • to present the second letter Bb and the sound b; some words: ball, bear, box, boots; phrases: How are you today? I’m happy! I am sad! I am hungry!

  • to develop skills to deal with listening, speaking and writing;

  • to educate interest in learning English.



The equipment: flesh cards, a computer.





The Process



  1. Warming up: T: Stand up, please. Hello, my friends!

P: Hello, teacher!

T: Take your sits, please.

  1. Main body:

  1. T: Let’s remember some phrases from the last lesson! What does it mean? – “How are you?”

P: Как твои дела?

T: You are right! Repeat after me: “How are you?”

P: How are you? (all together)

T: Answer the question! “I’m fine!”

P: I’m fine! (all together)

T: What does it mean? “So-so.”

P: Когда дела не очень.

T: You are right!

  1. T: Now let’s watch and sing a song “ How are you today?” Sing along!

T: Great! What phrases are new?

P: I am happy! (with the help)

T: You are right! “I am happy “ means «Я счастлив!» Let’s repeat! “I am happy!

P: I am happy! (all together)

T: OK.” I am sad” means «Мне грустно». Repeat after me: “ I am sad!”

P: I am sad! (all together)

T: Good! And the last point “ I am hungry!” means «Я голоден!» Repeat after me: “I am hungry!”

P: “I am hungry!”

T: Good job! Let’s sing a song once again!

  1. T: OK! Now tell me, please, what letter did we learn last lesson?

P: Letter Aa!

T: You are right! And how many sounds has letter Aa?

P: It has got two sounds:  æ and ei.

T: Can you tell me the word with the letter Aa?

P: Apple!

  1. T: Great! Today we will learn the next letter from the English alphabet, it’s letter Bb! Repeat after me: “Bb”

P: Bb (all together)

T: Good! Letter Bb has a sound b, repeat after me: b

P: b (all together).

T: OK! Let’s watch a video about letter Bb.

  1. T: OK! Take your sits! We have learnt a letter Bb this lesson, let’s say some words with the letter Bb. Look at the cards and repeat after me: “a ball! “

P: “A ball! “ (all together)

T: “ A bear!”

P: “ A bear!” (all together)

T: “ A box!”

P: “ A box!” (all together)

T: “ Boots!”

P: “ Boots!” (all together)

  1. T: Good! Now I’ll show you only cards, and you’ll try to remember the words!

P: A ball! A bear! A box! Boots! (with the help).

T: Great! Now you know the new words!

  1. Home task. : Children, we have written a letter Bb today, do it again at home, please.

  2. Reflection: T: Children! Let’s remember what English letters do you know?

P: Aa and Bb

T: You are right! And what English phrases do you know?

P: How are you today? I am happy! I am sad! I am hungry! (with the help)

T: Good! Turn to each other and ask: “ How are you today?”

P: “ How are you today?” (all together)

T: And answer the question: “ I am happy!”

P: “ I am happy!” (all together)

T: Good job! That’s all for today! Our lesson is over! Good bye!
