- развивать умения смыслового чтения: умения прогнозировать содержание текста по иллюстрациям и ключевым словам/началу текста, озаглавливать тексты, устанавливать логическую последовательность фактов, устанавливать смысловые соответствия при восприятии речи на слух;
- активизировать групповую работу и работу в паре;
- воспитывать активную жизненную позицию, креативность и эмпатию;
- воспитывать культуру поведения через освоение норм этикета: умение преподносить и реагировать на информацию, предлагать идею, выражать согласие/несогласие.
Материальное обеспечение урока: учебник Spotlight 7 класс, портфолио (дневник личных достижений), аудио диск для работы в классе, презентация, раздаточный материал.

1. The beginning of the lesson

T: In the lesson today we’re going to speak about magazines, about different types of magazines for teenagers where you can find real life stories, music, horoscopes, problem pages and other. So the theme of our lesson is “School magazines”
Now, look at the blackboard! You can see a front page of your school magazine there. Its headline is “School life”. The pupils present their articles to the class.
2. Speaking
Thank you for answers and now open your books on page 41. Look at the exercise 1, read and answer the questions.
Suggested Answer Key: ‘Shoot’ is for teenagers who like sport and especially football. It probably has articles about football matches and footballers. ‘Cosmo’ is for teenage girls. It probably has articles about fashion and beauty as well as gossip about stars. It also has problem pages and horoscopes.

Matching titles to categories. Read the rubric and explain the task.
Go through the feature titles and the categories with Ss, eliciting/explaining any difficult words. Allow Ss time to complete the task in pairs. Go around the classroom monitoring Ss’ work and helping if necessary. Check Ss’ answers as a class. Ask Ss to think of other titles and discuss.
