L9 recognize words that are spelt out from the topic “Fun in Almaty”

S1.make basic statements and give an opinion at a sentence level on the topic.

  • All learners will be able to:

  • understand the situation

  • recognize the new vocabulary and spelling the words correctly


Most learners will be able to:

  • answer the questions on the topic

  • to describe the picture using the new vocabulary with teacher’s support


Some learners will be able to:

  • give opinion at the sentences

  • speak about fun

Assessment criteria

Learners achieve objectives, if they can:

-recognize names of different fun

- make basic statements

  1. Organization moment.

Greeting learners. Have them take their places.

Warm-up.

Teacher asks students make circle and say the good wishes.

Teacher introduces lesson objectives to the students.

Teacher introduces assessment criteria to the learners.

Lead in.

Teacher shows the video about “Fun” and ask learners to guess the topic of the lesson.

So, what is the theme of our lesson? Our new theme is “Fun”

Re-grouping. Teacher asks learners

Learners are divided into two groups.

Activity 1.Brainstorm around the word “Fun

Task : name all the fun

Pre-listening task.

Activity 2. Introducing the vocabulary.

Teacher asks learners to look at the board the words are given on the board with pictures. Learners start with drilling these words by chorus then individually

Activity 3. Guess the word. (Group work)

Learners are going to play the game “Guess the word”

Task: give the definition of the words for others to guess.

Differentiation:

For weaker learnersthe teacher gives the task to guess the words.

For more able learners to give the definition.

Group assessment

- check the task with the peers of your group.


Feedback: if they guess and give the definition correctly, groups assess each others with clapping hands.



While listening:

Activity 4. Learners should match the pictures

(write numbers under the picture while listening)


Descriptor:

- check the task with the peers.


Feedback: learners can do list check

Physical Training. To sing a song and dance.


Post listening task:

Activity 5. Learners should fill the gaps.

  • 4 in the big indoor pool

  • 5 There are cafes, shashlyk stands

6 You can`t take a boat in winter


Differentiation

For weaker learnerscan fill the gaps with support of peers.

For more able learners can fill the gaps without support.

Activity 6. Make up a short situation (person- place- things)


Differentiation:

For weaker learnersthe teacher gives the words and their task is to make up a sentences.

For more able learners to make up a short situation.

- check the task with the peers of your group.
