Урок-соревнование «Грамматический брейн-ринг»

Проведен в группе 1 ИСП11-7.

Грамматический брейн-ринг.

Цели: активизация знакомой лексики и грамматики в речи; развитие навыков аудирования; совершенствование навыков диалогической речи.

Оборудование: эмблемы команд; костюмы и аксессуары для участников сценок; музыкальное оформление; карточки с лексико-грамматическими тестами; текст для аудирования; карточки со словами для четвертого раунда; плакаты для болельщиков.

Подготовка к мероприятию.

Учитель заранее выбирает ведущего или ведет мероприятие сам. Необходимо также выбрать членов жюри: это могут быть сами учащиеся или учителя. Для участия в игре нужны 4 команды по 5-6 человек. Участники придумывают названия команд, эмблемы и придумывают ответ на вопрос « How are you going to win

Участники игры выбирают болельщиков и готовят плакаты с лозунгами. От их активности зависит, смогут ли команды получить дополнительные баллы. Болельщики могут помогать соответствующим командам. В конце мероприятия жюри добавляет баллы тем командам, чьи болельщики были наиболее активными.

Ход мероприятия.

Ведущий. Good evening, dear participants, judges and guests. Today we meet at the game « Brain-ring» (звучит музыка). We have four teams. The members of the teams will do some tasks, which are divided into four rounds. So let us start. (Звучит музыка).

Good morning. Today is Shrove, Tuesday, so I’m going to talk about… pancakes. This is my recipe. It’s very easy and very good.

You’ll need 150 g of flower, an egg, 300 ml of milk, 2tablespoons of oil, some oil for frying pancakes, some sugar and two lemons. That’s all. Now to make the pancakes…

Mix the flower and the eggs with a fork. Mix in the milk and the oil slowly. Put some oil in the pan. Heat the pan. It must be very hot. Pour in two tablespoons of mixture. Cook the meal for about 45 seconds. Toss the pancake once. Cook for another 45 seconds. Serve it with some sugar and lots of lemon juice. That’s it. Have a nice Tuesday and enjoy your pancakes!

Pancake recipe.

100 g flour, a pinch of salt, 2 eggs, 200 ml milk with 75 ml water, 2 tablespoons melted butter or oil, a little oil for frying the pancakes, some sugar and one lemon.

Mix the flower and the eggs with a fork. Slowly mix in the milk and water. Put a little oil in the pan.

Heat the pan (very hot). Pour in one and the half tablespoons of mixture. Cook for about 30 seconds.

Развивающие цели:


1. Развитие критического мышления студентов, умения высказывать мнения и  делать выводы.

2. Развитие памяти и внимания.

3. Развитие умения вести дискуссию.


Воспитательные цели:

1. Воспитывать умения внимательно слушать и слышать своих товарищей.

2. Развитие навыков работы в команде. Формирование уважение к мнению товарищей.

Distant learning is considered by many a convenient and promising form of education. However its opponents say that it is no match for personal intellectual contact and development (тема написана на доске).


I.What kinds of distanсе learning do you know?


  • Correspondence Learning: With correspondence learning, you receive your textbooks, study guides, assignments and other study materials via the post. You work through these materials in your own time and at your own pace. Depending on the institution through which you choose to study your course, you may be able to ask a tutor or instructor for help via e-mail, telephone, instant messaging, or post.


  • Electronic Learning: Electronic learning, often referred to as e-learning, enables you to access your course material on a computer. CDs, DVDs, and computer-based applications can all be used to deliver e-learning courses.


  • Online Learning: Online learning is a form of electronic learning that requires you to have access to the internet. Online learning is often more interactive than the other types of distance learning, as it allows you to communicate with tutors, instructors and fellow students in real time. With online learning, you might also be able to download your study material from the internet, submit your assignments via an online student portal, complete assessments online, attend webinars, and participate in virtual classes.



2.What do you now about Synchronous Distance Learning? 

Synchronous learning is where you take part in learning activities (such as webinars and virtual classes) simultaneously with your instructors and fellow students. 


3.What do you now about Asynchronous Distance Learning?

Asynchronous learning does not require you to participate in learning activities at the same time as your fellow students. Instead, you are given the opportunity to work through the course material at your own pace and according to your own schedule. Textbooks, e-mail and postal correspondence, virtual libraries, online databases, message boards, CDs and DVDs can all play an important role in the delivery of study material for asynchronous distance learning courses. 


4.What groups of students are usually involved in online learning?


Distance learning traditionally has focused on nontraditional students, such as full-time workers, military personnel, and nonresidents or individuals in remote regions who are unable to attend classroom lectures. However, distance learning has become an established part of the educational world, with trends pointing to ongoing growth. In U.S. higher education alone, more than 5.6 million university students were enrolled in at least one online course in the autumn of 2009, up from 1.6 million in 2002.

An increasing number of universities provide distance learning opportunities. A pioneer in the field is the University of Phoenix, which was founded in Arizona in 1976 and by the first decade of the 21st century had become the largest private school in the world, with more than 400,000 enrolled students. It was one of the earliest adopters of distance learning technology. A precise figure for the international enrollment in distance learning is unavailable, but the enrollment at two of the largest public universities that heavily utilize distance learning methods gives some indication: in the early 21st century the Indira Gandhi National Open University, headquartered in New Delhi, had an enrollment in excess of 1.5 million students, and the China Central Radio and TV University, headquartered in Beijing, had more than 500,000 students.

Time saving.

St.1.A Well, let me start. It is general knowledge that distance education is a brilliant possibility for many people to study from home or work. There are several reasons for it.

First of all it’s time saving because it does not require commuting. There’s no time wasted on going to and from college, no time wasted waiting for a bus or train. When you learn online, your classroom is right in your room - the study material on your computer. Secondly, you don’t have to go to the library because you can download your course from the internet. This, furthermore, saves your travel time and helps you utilize time in the best possible way.


Complicated technology.

St.1.D There are some problems related to online education.

One of them is adaptability to new technologies. If a student is not computer and tech savvy, his learning experience can be dissatisfactory. Not every student knows how to attend virtual classrooms well. Some learners may also be afraid of technology or dislike it.

On the other hand, overdependence on technology can be a major drawback in distance learning mode of education, especially when the learning takes place in an online environment. Any malfunctioning software or hardware can bring an ongoing class to a standstill and interrupt the learning process. So, the performance of distance learning programs through the Internet cannot be guaranteed. Similarly, both the instructors and students involved in distance learning may often need to make sacrifices to get things done in time.

For these reasons many teachers are reluctant to switch from the traditional methods of teaching to technology-oriented approaches.


Money saving.

St.2.A You can save money: For any given program, the fee of a distance education degree (online or otherwise) may be much more affordable than the fee of a regular on-campus degree. Students who are looking for economically viable options can go for a distance learning program.

Most of the courses turn out to be cheaper through distance learning as opposed to attending a traditional college. You can study at home without paying unnecessary costs for classrooms, boards .

and transportation. Apparently, the cost of studying a course at a university is three to four times more than the tuition fee for distance learning programs.

Simultaneously, You gain extra knowledge about working online .  You can transfer the computer and Internet skills that you'll obtain in the process of your distance learning experience to other aspects of your life.




Hidden costs

St.2.D Although the cost of a distance education program is usually cheaper than a regular program, there can be hidden costs involved. For example, if your distance learning course is offered online, you might have some initial expenses like installing a computer and getting a reliable Internet connection. You may need to buy additional resources such as a printer, a web camera and so forth. Some expenses might be recurring/ regular, like maintenance and electricity costs.

Thus, starting a high-tech distance learning programs still can be expensive.



You can study at your convenience.

St.3.A You can complete most of the classes at your convenience. Most of the classes are asynchronous, which means you don't have to attend a lecture at a particular time and place. You can review the assignments and do your homework during off-hours or from home.

In other words, You can study whenever, wherever it is convenient for you. Except in scenarios where you have to attend an online tutorial at a given time or a lecture through videoconferencing, you can pretty much study whenever you want to, wherever you choose to. You need not be stuck in a classroom, but can go and study in your garden, your own room. Irrespective of whether you're a morning lark or a night owl, you can choose an optimum time to study whenever you're at your productive best.

The educational information is stored electronically, thus learners with access to the site can download or use the information as long as it is stored there. This makes it easy for learners to work at their own place and to visit the site as frequently as they like.

What is more, working independently, without distractions from others, will keep the student more focused on their studies.


Lack of valuable communication.

St.3.D  Not everyone is an ideal candidate for online learning. In most cases students involved in distance learning do not get the practice of verbal interaction with professors and other students. Sharing ideas between students and their teachers are limited. Although you may have an allocated tutor, this contact may be minimal, so feedback will be restricted to notes concerning submitted coursework. This is one of the major disadvantages of distance learning

Many students work better with other people around.

If you are one of the students who prefer interacting with teachers and seeking their attention, then distance learning is probably not your choice, as you cannot interact with teachers as well as with other fellow students. While interactions enhance critical thinking and problem-solving skills, distance education largely lacks this advantage. Though many distance learning sites have developed online forums or chat rooms, this is only a partial substitute, which cannot be compared with college classrooms.

Although distance education is very flexible and convenient, it still cannot provide the ‘college experience.’ Working with other learners, being part of a total educational environment, and collaborate closely with academic mentors is still valuable to many learners.

Nothing can be compared to the beauty of the college campus and the college spirit. All these experiences of a traditional college are excluded from distance education courses.




Self-paced learning.

St.4A It can be confidently said that using this method You can learn at your own pace ,in other words it is for   slow and quick learners. Needless to say that it reduces stress especially for low achieving students.

Sometimes it can be quite embarrassing for students to grasp a concept in class. Some students are too shy to raise their doubts in class. Distance education comes to rescue here! If you have any doubts or questions , there are discussion forums, chat facilities with the faculty and complete support from the distance education provider.

Finally, since you are given all course work beforehand, you can study as much or as little as you want every day, as long as you complete your study material within the stipulated time.

In a word, working at your own pace takes the pressure and strain out of learning and encourages a student to develop their skills in a way they are comfortable doing. Learning only the things they need to know will also keep the student more focused on their learning, and motivated to complete the coursework.


Lack of immediate feedback and poor motivation.

St.4D Distance learning does not always offer immediate feedback. This format isn’t ideal for all learners.

As far as I know, in a traditional classroom setting, a student's performance can be immediately assessed through questions and informal testing. With distance learning, a student has to wait for feedback until the instructor has reviewed their work and responded to it.

Not everyone can be well suited to distance learning programs. Successful participants must be highly motivated and self-disciplined. Otherwise it may become a problem for students to achieve good results.

If you come across students who have studied through distance learning, you will find they often complain of staying unmotivated, without attending a class every day. Since most distance learning courses are self-paced, it becomes tremendously difficult to stay motivated, allowing one to easily lose inspiration and desire to study further. Hence, dropout rates for distance learning are exceptionally high.


Living in remote areas.

St.5A You don't have to live in the same city or the same country to attend the learning institution of your choice. You can study wherever you have access to a computer and Internet connection. Online education gives the opportunity for everyone regardless of his nationality and place of residence to obtain a diploma of any university anywhere in the world.

As an example I would like to speak about distance education New York to China. For the Chinese learner taking classes in English from instructors in the United States there are some particular advantages. First of all, it saves money for the learners that would be spent on travel and lodging. Secondly, they don’t have to overcome difficulties in obtaining visa for educational travel. Lastly, it helps to overcome the sense of disorientation for the Chinese learner living in the United States or Europe. The learner remains within the home environment while gradually learning the language and content materials and developing language skills, technical skills, research skills and educational proficiency.

So, on-line education gives equal opportunities for education regardless of place of living, health and material status.



Quality of faculty compromised

 St.5D. Often considered to be the lesser cousin of regular education, distance education is often plagued by lack of enough good quality faculty members. In other cases, even if the instructor is good, he or she may not be comfortable with teaching in an online environment. Sometimes the technology might not do full justice to the delivery and design of the course. A student loses out in all these scenarios. Distance education providers should realize that it is not the technology, but good and effective teachers that teach students.





Work/family along with studies

St.6.A You can pursue a job along with studies: A lot of students who actually choose to study online are those who don't want to give up their jobs but want a higher education, too. Distance education comes as a blessing for such students. You can study on the weekends, when you're back from work or even in the middle of the night. You get to learn while you earn!

Keeping your job gives you more income, experience and stability while completing your degree giving you less to worry about and more time to focus on your studies.

A majority of distance learning students are female and many are single parents who want to stay close to home for various reasons. They might not be able to afford child care or must care for a confined relative at home. Other students are physically disabled and cannot easily travel to campus.

Some do not have the time, money, or educational background to come to campus.

You don't have to spend time and effort gaining access to a classroom or sitting on uncomfortable desks. Instead, you can use your comfortable furniture in your home while enjoying free movement and a chance to further your education.

Distance learning makes it much easier for some students to complete a degree or get additional job-training while balancing work and family commitments.


Chances of distraction high

St.6.D With no faculty around for face-to-face interaction and no classmates who can help with constant reminders about pending assignments, the chances of getting distracted and losing track of deadlines are high. You need to keep yourself motivated and focused if you want to successfully complete your distance learning course. Distance education is not a good idea if you tend to procrastinate and can't stick to deadlines. If you are not self-disciplined and self-motivated, the best benefit for you is to choose a regular program. 
With more flexibility comes more responsibility on the part of the learner. Students must learn to work well independently and without the constant guidance and monitoring of an instructor, making distance learning a challenge for those who are not easily selfmotivated




Gaining recognition among employers

St.7.A Distance education over the years has finally found some acceptance and recognition among employers, which is an encouraging sign. As long as the distance learning program is accredited, you need not be worried. In India, all distance education programs that are approved by the Distance Education Council (DEC) stand automatically recognized for the purpose of employment to posts and services under the Central Government. Private sector employers also value a distance education degree now, and even encourage employees to pursue higher education along with their job (so that employees can develop skills and expertise in their field of work).



Lack of reliability

St.7.D Distance learning degrees may not be acknowledged by all employers because of Questionable credibility of degrees. Although most employers do acknowledge distance learning, certain employers do not. Students who want to work for a specific employer upon graduation should be sure of that employer's perspective about online education.

Actually, even though distance and online education is starting to get recognition, there are still a lot of fraudulent and non-accredited degrees being offered. With the increase in the number of distance/online programs, the numbers of scam operators are also rising. This affects the credibility of the recognized distance learning degrees among prospective employers.




The wide choice of programs and studying materials.

St.8.A There are many web sites providing plentiful distance education resources, and the potential learners can link to each resource mentioned. There are Numerous choices for schools. Even if you live in a community with few or no colleges distance learning allows you to choose from a wide variety of schools to complete your education. You may find online schools that specialize in your particular field or one that can provide a great general education. Either way, your options for education will be greatly expanded.

When the learner links to the Web site that he is interested in, he can see the goal, content, policy, and tuition of the educational programs.

On the other hand, the Web can provide learning information in many different interesting formats. It can present information in sound bits, such as music, voice or special effects. Graphics may be also presented in a special type of artwork such as animation or video.

Furthermore, through the Internet, the distance learning community can access hundreds of libraries and databases. It is very convenient.



Distance learning does not always offer all the necessary courses online.

St.8.D

Students pursuing a specific certificate or degree program may not have all the necessary courses available through distance learning so it is not suited for all subjects. While you can study a history lesson completely online, you cannot perform nursing clinicals online. because it is not possible to have a practical classes or experiments to be conducted over the internet because part of the degree is learning to work directly with patients.

We have researched three countries this month. Let’s talk about their flags, emblems, symbols, dates and statistics. We shall listen to three groups, three projects. I’d like to have your opinion. Will you help me to put up the pictures? The photos and pictures on the blackboard will help you to present your country.

(Учитель организует презентацию проектов по темам «Америка», «Великобритания», «Россия». Наглядность и выступление по своей теме ученики готовят дома заранее. Ученики из каждой группы вывешивают на доске картинки, фотографии и плакаты по своей теме.

Группы представляют свои проекты по очереди. Перед классом выступают все члены группы. Учитель побуждает слушателей задавать вопросы выступающим ученикам.

В конце урока необходимо подвести итоги проектной работы и обсудить с учащимися вопросы: What do we need to live happily in the world? How should people cooperate with each other? What will help you understand our world better?

The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland has four historic parts: England with its capital in London, Scotland with its capital in Edinburg, Wales with its capital in Cardiff, and Northern Ireland with its capital in Belfast.

The floral symbol of England is the Red Rose. Earlier it decorated the arms of the House of Lancaster.

The Lancastrians argued for the throne of England with the Yorkists whose arms had a white rose. The war for the throne between the Lancastrians and the Yorkists became known in the history of the country as the war of Red and White Rose. It lasted 30 years (1455-1485). When the Lancastrians won the war, their arms of the Red Rose became the symbol of the whole England.

The Scottish symbol is in the Scandinavians came a white plant called the Thistle. At one point, the Scandinavians planned to attack a Scottish village. But since the Scots knew they were coming, they started to prepare for war. Late at night, the Scandinavians came in their bare feet so as to not awaken the Scottish warriors in the village. But the thorns of the Thistle hurt their bare feet. Their howls of pains pierced the silence and the Scots awoke to find the enemy.

The patron saint of Wales, David, ate only leeks and bread. In memory of this Christian Saint, the leek became the symbol of Wales.

Daffodils which burst into flames by the first of March celebrate the revered Welsh saint. The Irish symbol is another wild plant called the SHAMROCK. This plant helped saint Patrick explain to the people of his country what the Holy Trinity is. The historic colours of the parts are : England, -WHITE, Scotland- BLUE, Wales-RED, Northern Ireland- GREEN. Sport teams of the nations wear these colors.

Цели проведения: совершенствование навыков чтения вслух и про себя, навыков литературного перевода, совершенствование грамматических навыков и навыков аудирования.


Развитие навыков работы в команде, поддержание интереса к изучению иностранного языка.











































Ход урока.

1 Команды выбирают капитана.

При выборе капитана надо подобрать такого ученика который не только хорошо владеет английским языком, но и отличается своей находчивостью, остроумием и умением сплотить вокруг себя команду.

2. Команды придумывают название.

3.Капитаны приветствуют друг друга

Задание 1 Подобрать русский эквивалент пословицы или цитаты. Или члены команд по очереди зачитывают пословицы и цитаты из таблицы и находят подходящий вариант. Если одна команда ошибается, то вторая говорит свой ответ и если он правильный, то зарабатывает дополнительный балл.

Liverpool And the Beatles.


On Wednesday 24th October 1962, Love Me Do entered the British Top Thirty. It was the first single by an unknown group from Liverpool called the Beatles. It was the first of a number of big hits that would make John Lennon, Paul McCartney and George Harrison and Ringo Starr the most successful pop group the world has ever known.

However, the road to success was not always easy. John and Paul had spent many hours listening to American stars like Chuck Berry and Elvis Presley before they were able to write the famous Lennon and McCartney songs.

Although the long evenings spent playing in hot nightclubs in Liverpool and Hamburg in Germany had not earned them much money, they found the experience very useful when playing to huge audiences later on.

Not only was their style of singing new and exciting but their unusual haircuts and crazy sense of humour immediately became the latest fashion.

One of the most important people at the start of their carriers was Brian Epstein, a Liverpoolian record- dealer. He managed to change four ordinary working -class lads into international superstars. George Martin, their record producer, encouraged them to introduce all kinds of unusual instruments on their records and combine popular and classical styles in a new and original way.

During the 1960’s, the Beatles were always in the news headlines; films, world tours, and sometimes scandal. John once suggested that the Beatles were better known than Jesus Christ. This caused hundreds of young Americans to burn their Beatle records. In addition some people thought they were hidden messages about drugs in some of the songs.

After a decade of successful music and films, the Beatles finally decided to break up in the early seventies, after public disagreements about money and personalities.

Although many funs hoped there would be a reunion throughout the 1970s, this became impossible with the tragic murder of John Lennon in New York in 1980.

The surviving Beatles are still deeply involved in musical and film projects but many fans still long for the music of the 60s.

Nicollo Paganini:Virtuosio or Devil.


He was the first superstar. His incredible technique-he could do miracles with his violin-and his unusual appearance tempted many of his admires to whisper that he was the son of the devil.

Although Niccolo Paganini was always the subject of rumour, the secret of his power was that he worked hard since early childhood. Paganini was born in Genoa, Italy, on October 27, 1782. His father, Antonio Paganini raised his son with a hand of iron. He hoped that his son’s talent would bring the family fame and wealth, so he forced Nicollo to practise from morning to night. He drilled the boy constantly, even leaving him without food, if he didn’t play well enough. In 1797, Paganini started his concert tours. He earned enough money to support himself and he left home.

He composed, he taught, he gave concerts. His violin could sound so soft and sweet that his audiences always burst into tears. People just couldn’t believe that a man could play like that.

Paganini’s appearance seemed to support this opinion. He was tall and thin, and his long pale face, his eyes which were like flaming charcoals and his long curly hair looked a bit diabolic. Sometimes people crossed themselves if he accidentally touched them.

Paganini became something of a legend. He enjoyed playing tricks at his concerts. In the middle of a piece, he would cut off the strings except for one and continue just on the one string.

Paganini made a lot of money during his carrier. But in 1836, he decided to open a casino- ‘a Casino Paganini’-in Paris. It was a failure and he lost almost all his money. Paganini’s health had always been weak and after that his illness grew worse. He died on May 27, 1840 in Nice, France.

Church refused to allow him a burial on holy ground. Paganini’s son took his father’s body to Genoa, but they were not allowed to enter the city. Only five years after Paganini’s death his son by appealing directly to the Pope, received permission to bury the body of the great violinist in a village church.

So, we decided to start a band at our school with two more of our classmates who played the guitar and the drum. It was a great experience because it taught us to be creative.

I can say I’m quite a music lover, but I especially respect those composers who write music for people who may have no experience with classical music. A It is somewhat similar to mainframe computers and is used in economic forecasts and engineering designs.

I a notebook or slate-shaped mobile computer, first introduced by Pen Computing in the early 90s with their PenGo Tablet Computer and popularized by Microsoft. Its touchscreen or graphics tablet/screen hybrid technology allows the user to operate the computer with a stylus or digital pen, or a fingertip, instead of a keyboard or mouse. The form factor offers a more mobile way to interact with a computer. Tablet PCs are often used where normal notebook are impractical or unwieldy, or do not provide the needed functionality.

Цель урока: обсуждение положительных и отрицательных сторон компьютерных игр, выражение и аргументирование своей точки зрения.

1. Организационный момент. Установка учителя.

Teacher: “Good afternoon! Today we’re going to speak about different types of computer games, we’ll talk about positive and negative effects of them and virtual reality in general. So the objective of our lesson is to discuss all bad and good sides of computers in our life.

2. Introduction. 

Учащиеся смотрят на экран, слушают речь учителя и высказывают собственные мнения относительно тезисов, приведенных в презентации.

Teacher: Our life is greatly influenced and perhaps even dependent on computers nowadays. One can not but agree with it. Computers are important for our work, studying, free time. You know children spend a lot of time playing computer games that affect them differently. Some people say these games are useful, others think they are dangerous and harmful. I’d like you to express your opinion on some statements that you can see on the screen. (Слайды 3-8).

1. Computer games develop fast thinking, learning, reaction.

Pupil I: I think it’s true because children have to analyze the situation in the game and invent the best options, for example, where the character of the game should go or how to drive the car correctly. It must be done quickly.

Pupil II: I don’t agree. Real situations and knowledge are different from computer ones.

2. Computer games lead to social problems.

Pupil I: People who use the Net and play games a lot sometimes can’t find friends in real life and feel comfortable at parties, in the classroom and so on. They are too shy and can’t mix with people.

Pupil II: But they can find friends on the Net and partners for their computer games. They can be very popular in the social nets.

3. Computer games make children be aggressive.

Pupil I: I suppose it depends on the person. Some people say that such games help to delete negative emotions.

Pupil II: It’s right because usually aggressive boys are interested in these games. They become more violent.

4. Repetitive tasks in games make children less intelligent.

Pupil I: It’s nonsense because the games have got many options and you must make decisions in the other situations. Games may help memory, abstract thinking.

Pupil II: I agree with the statement. You always do the same things, only the pictures change but the task is the same: you must fight or kill or drive somewhere. It does not help to be cleverer.

5. Children can become dependent on games.

Pupils 1: I’ve got a friend who plays games all the time. He does not go for a walk of learn well, he just plays. He spends time very strangely. He does not want to do anything else.

Pupil II: It depends on your friend. He is not interested in studying, people, communication. It’s his problem , not the problem of games.

6. Computer games are one of the most important factors in developing children’s IQ. (Researchers show the present people have IQs 15 points higher above their parents).

2) Imagine that you are a journalist who has been at the presentation of the new computer game “Mercedes Simulator” and has already played one game. Describe your impressions, feelings and thoughts about it. Is it useful? Why yes /not? One group of the class will support the idea of this game, the other will deny it. You have some time to think it over and tell your arguments

Group 1:

We suppose that this computer simulation is extremely important for every future driver because it provides many variants of dangerous road situations. The driving rules for each situation, when you make a mistake, are given so you can check yourself and remember this particular rule. The road signs are also presented and it ‘s very useful for the inexperienced driver. Computer graphics are excellent and visual effects are terrific. Computer driving theoretical and practical tests are reality nowadays and we can’t turn a blind eye to it. Computer simulations are a part of our life , they can prevent a lot of crashes, real human tragedies, avoid crimes on roads and make our life safe. Repeated actions in these games help to form a skill and automatic skills are a sign of great experience. You know that even future doctors first should train on special dolls not on people. It’s also the question of safety. Extra training in different options is certainly necessary. This game presents all new functions and opportunities of “ Mercedes” car. The player feels himself like in a real car, he learns to make decisions and think independently. This game doesn’t promote violence , it helps to develop brain and memory.

Group 2:

We can’t agree with you because reality and virtual world are different things. Drivers must study in real situations on the road, life-like and computer – like reactions and abilities are not the same. It’s seems to us that you may perfectly drive your car in the game but it ‘ll be the other variant in life. Computer effects, even the best, ones are not good for eyes and healthy education is not in front of the screen but, of course, in a car in an open air. People need a living teaching with live people. Our group thinks that games are only an imitation of teaching and for having real knowledge people should learn in reality. People need warmth, understanding, communication and only teachers or coachers can do it. Computers can’t become people, friends, it’s impossible. People become people and members of society when playing, talking and helping people. There is a saying: ”There is only one luxury in the world - the luxury of the human communication” and we totally agree with it. “Computer sun” doesn’t shine in the street and doesn’t give heat. You have to act and take part in the social life, you can’t jump behind the screen, like Alice in Wonderland behind the mirror, and live there. You have got only one life not “10 lives” as it is in the computer games. If your real Mercedes hits a man and you don’t understand that it’s not a game what will happen to you and who’ll help you?

3) Write a short annotation to the new computer simulation “Ocean diving”. Describe good and bad points of it.

4) Try to prove why computer simulations can be helpful for pilots, drivers, engineers, architects, sportsmen.

Звездный час на тему « Искусство»

Цели: обобщение изученного материала по теме «Искусство», развитие грамматических и лексических навыков; развитие художественного вкуса и поддержание интереса учащихся к изучению английского языка.

Оборудование: 10 кубиков (на каждой грани кубика написаны английские буквы); жетоны для игры «Аукцион», иллюстрации картин русских художников; таблички с зашифрованными названиями стилей живописи для проведения игры со зрителями.

Ход мероприятия.

I.Организационный момент.

I am glad to see you. How are you today? I hope you are fine. Today we shall play a game “The Star Hour” Our topic is “Art». Let’s remember Russian painters and their famous pictures.

Учитель приветствует учащихся и сообщает им цель мероприятия. В игре принимают участие 6-8 человек. Для проверки и оценивания заданий выбирается жюри в составе 3-4 человек. Выполняя задания различных туров, участники игры за правильные ответы получают звездочки. Победителем игры считается тот, кто наберет больше всех очков-звездочек).

I want you to look at the blackboard. You can see different pictures and their creators. Match the pictures and the painters. You will get a ‘star’ if you do the task quickly and correctly.

(Учитель привлекает внимание учащихся к картинам и табличкам с именами писателей, заранее развешанным на доске. Задание для участников-соотнести картину и художника. Свои ответы ученики заносят в таблицу и после выполнения сдают на проверку жюри. Ученик, выполнивший задание последним, выбывает из игры. (Учащимся предлагается следующее задание: составить длинное слово из букв на кубиках. Для того чтобы определить какие буквы учащиеся могут использовать , учитель рассыпает кубики на столе. Для составления слова участники игры могут использовать буквы, которые расположены на верхних гранях кубиков. Время выполнения задания -2 минуты. Затем ученики зачитывают слова. Обладатель самого длинного слова получает звездочку. Обладатель самого короткого слова выбывает из игры).

(Учитель показывает зрителям таблички со словами - названиями различных стилей живописи. Ученики должны расшифровать слово и правильно назвать стиль на анлийском и русском языке. За каждый правильный ответ ученик получает один жетон. В конце игры подводятся итоги, ученик, набравший большее количество жетонов, получает одну звездочку, которую он может отдать одному из участников игры « Звездный час».)

VI.4 тур. Игра « Аукцион»

Дети по очереди называют зарубежных деятелей культуры.

(Rembrandt, Bronzino, J. Zoffany, H. Holbein the Younger, Botticelli, Raphael, Rubens, C. Monet, J. L. David, J. Turner, Goya, S Dali, P. Picasso, etc.) Учитель дает один жетон за каждый правильный вариант ответа. Ученик, набравший наибольшее количество жетонов, получает звездочку. Ученик, набравший наименьшее количество жетонов, выбывает из игры.

VII. 5 тур.

Учитель открывает на доске заранее подготовленную запись слова ‘architecture’. За 2 минуты ученики, которые вышли в финал, составляют слова из данного слова. Затем по очереди они называют свои слова. Каждое слово можно использовать только один раз. В финале выигрывает ученик, который назовет слово последним.

VIII. Подведение итогов.

So you can see that the winner of our game is Ann. Now it is her ‘Star Hour’. Let’s listen to her. Thank you for the game. See you next week.

( По окончании игры победитель получает право выступить с речью в течение 1-2 минут. Затем учитель организует награждение участников игры).

Цели: Поддержание интереса к изучению иностранного языка; тренировка лексических навыков по теме «Спорт»; совершенствование навыков устной речи и чтения; аудирования, развитие языковой догадки и логического мышления.

Оборудование: мяч, картинки спортивного снаряжения и кроссворды для команд; задание на карточках для конкурса « Спортивные игры».

Ход мероприятия.

I. Организационный момент.

Good morning! How are you? Today we shall play the game “Star hour”. Our topic is Sport. В финале участник, набравший больше всех звезд, побеждает.)



II. Let’s remember kinds of sport and games. You will have 2 minutes to write down the names of different kinds of sport and games. It is important to write the words correctly. Are you ready to start?

(Учитель объясняет учащимся первое задание. Команды или участники получают листок бумаги на котором в течение 2 минут записывают по-английски названия видов спорта или спортивных игр на английском языке. После выполнения задания ученики сдают листочки на проверку жюри.

Второй вариант проверки данного задания: представители от каждой команды выходят к доске и по очереди называют слова, в таком случае нельзя повторяться или дописывать слова во время проверки.)

III. Will you stand up please? The next task for you is to agree or disagree with me. I’ll throw you the ball; you’ll catch it and express your opinion. Repeat the statement if it is true. Disagree with me and correct the statement if it is false.

V.Конкурс Спортивные игры.

It’s time to read the stories and match them with the names of sports games. You can see the names of sports games on the blackboard. Let’s read them altogether. Is everything clear? Start then.

Учитель предлагает небольшие рассказы-описание различных видов спорта. Задание для команд-прочитать рассказы и соотнести их с названиями спортивных игр, заранее записанных на доске. Количество названий игр больше чем количество рассказов, таким образом некоторые слова на доске не будут использованы учащимися.

Задания на карточках.

1.It is a game of two players. Each of them starts having sixteen different playing pieces to move on a board. The aim of the game is to move your pieces so that your opponent’s king will be taken.

6. It is sometimes called an English national game. It is known that people played it in England in 1550. It is a very long game. International matches last for five days. The game is not played only by men. Girls and women play this game too.

VI. Конкурс « Составляем рассказ».

I can you know much about sport and games. But it is interesting to find out what sport means for you. Let’s make up a story about the role of sport in our life. We’’ll work in a chain.

( Учитель предлагает командам составить по цепочке рассказ «Спорт в нашей жизни». Ученики разных команд по очереди составляют рассказ по цепочке : первое предложение –ученик из перовой команды, второе предложение-ученик из второй команды, третье предложение-ученик из первой команды и т.д.(Или просто по цепочке).

Жюри оценивает содержание составленных предложений, лексическое и грамматическое разнообразие структур, а также количество предлжджений у каждой команды. Для успешного проведения данного конкурса необходимо дать командам домашнее задание: повторить рассказ « Значение спорта в жизни людей».

Sport is very important in our life. It is popular among young and old people. Many people do morning exercises, jog in the morning and train themselves in clubs, in different sections and take part in sport competitions.

Other people like sports too, but they only watch sports games, listen to sports news. They prefer reading interesting stories about sportsmen. But they don't go in for sports.

Physical training is an important subject at school. Boys and girls play volley-ball and basketball at the lessons. There is the sports ground near our school and schoolchildren go in for sports in the open air.

A lot of different competition are held at schools, a great number of pupils take part in them. All participants try to get good results and become winners. Sport helps people to keep in good health. If you go in for sports you have good health and don't catch cold.

There are some popular kinds of sports in our country: football, volley ball, hockey, gymnastics, skiing, skating. Athletics is one of the most popular kinds of sports. It includes such kinds of sports as: running, jumping and others. There are summer and winter sports. Everybody may choose the sport he (or she) is interested in.

-          I think they are running, swimming or cycling. You don’t spend much time to do these kinds of sport but you are always healthy and active. But sometimes it’s very helpful just to have a good walk.

-          Well, I see you are very active. Could you give some advice to those people who think sport is not so important in their lives?

-          Er. I don’t know. People, be active! Our life is boring and stressful when it’s calm.
