Тема учебного занятия: Мнение подростков о газетах, радио, ТВ. Говорение

Цели учебного занятия:

Обучающая: активизировать употребление лексических единиц и лексико-грамматических конструкций по теме «СМИ» ; обеспечить в ходе урока систематизацию лексического материала по данной теме

Развивающая: развивать навыки чтения, говорения, письма, логики, лингво-культурную компетенцию

Воспитывающая: совершенствовать навыки общения; развивать умения обобщать, делать выводы, воспитание чувства коллективизма, умения работать в группе

Методическая цель: методика активизации мыслительной деятельности учащихся при выполнении практических заданий на этапе обобщения лексического материала по данной теме.

Тип учебного занятия: систематизации и обобщения

I. Организационная часть:

Ход урока.

  1. Приветствие. Создание атмосферы иноязычного общения (дата, день недели). Проверка отсутствующих,

---Good morning, students!

How are you? What day is it today? What date is it today?

So, who is absent today?

Let us start. It’s no wonder that the 21st century is regarded as information age. The mass media actually rule the world and play a very important role in our lives. The press, the radio, the Internet and television inform us of what is going on in the world and give us wonderful possibilities for education and entertainment.

2. Речевая разминка. It’s cold today, isn’t it? Have you listened to the weather forecast over the radio or watched it on TV or in the Internet? Look at the blackboard. Here are the quotations, connected to our topic. Can you read and interpret them?

1. Television teaches us to kill, to rob, to shoot and to poison.

2. When a dog bites a man it’s not the news, but when a man bites the dog that’s the news.

3. We watch the shows – we watch the stars

On videos for hours and hours

We hardly need to use our ears

How music changes through the years.

You had your time – you had the power

You’ve yet to have your finest hour

4. Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach him to use the Net and he won’t disturb you for weeks. /the interpretation of the proverb/

What do you think our today’s topic is?

“Mass Media , opinions of teenagers about newspapers, the radio, TV”.

The final activity. And if it is the final activity what can be the aim of the lesson? The aim: To sum up all the information on the topic «Mass Media» and to analyze this phenomenon from different points of view, to practice conversation skills.

II. Актуализация опорных знаний:

To begin with, let us practice some words referring to our topic, name please.

Match the definitions (стр.249, упр 4а)

  1. a paper printed and sold usually daily or weekly with news, advertisements etc.;

  2. the process of sending and receiving messages through the air; broadcasting programmes for people to listen to;

  3. broadcasting programmes (the news, plays, advertisements, shows, etc.) for people to watch on their television sets;

  4. a newspaper with rather small pages, many pictures and little serious news;

  5. a way to communicate with your partner who might be a thousand miles away using the computer (e-mails).

Do teenagers have some kind youth speak in your country?

Do you think these British teenagers wath a lot of TV, listen to the radio and read broadsheets?

III. Сообщение нового учебного материала

1) Чтение краткого текста о мнении подростка о СМИ (на распечатках)

Skim quickly through what four teenagers think of mass media and

say if:

a) all of them have a positive opinion of what they read in

newspapers or watch on TV;

b) which of them is more critical about mass media;

c) whose point of view you share and what it is.


To be honest, I don’t pay attention to the media.

My parents and some of my friends say I should,

but I don’t really see the point. If I could do something

about all the awful disasters in the news,

then may be. I can’t, though, so why should I

depress myself for no good reason? Instead I just

get on with my life and try to have fun. That’s

what really matters, isn’t it?

Guy (Britain)

I’m a big fan of the news media. I think they do

a fantastic job – especially on the really important

stories. Take the end of the Cold War, for example.

Thanks to journalists and TV reporters the

whole world was able to see it happen, day by day.

They’re good at covering issues like the environment, too. In fact,

that’s one reason why the Green movement is so strong today.

Everybody has read about it and seen the TV pictures.

Barbara (Ireland)

My view of the media? ...I think it’s become a

Frankenstein’s monster. I mean, all you have to do is

turn on the TV to see that. All right, there are a few

interesting programmes, but eighty per cent of it’s

totally pathetic. Quiz shows, adverts, soap operas,

awful American comedies... And tabloid newspapers

are no better. They’re like comics for grown_ups.

But maybe that’s what people want. I don’t know.

All I can say is, it’s definitely not what I want.


In my opinion, today’s younger generation is

the best_informed ever. We’re really lucky. And

why do we know so much? ...because of the media.

OK – not all newspapers and programmes are

good, I admit, but so what? You don’t have to read

or watch the bad ones. It’s like an information

supermarket... you go in, look at what’s available

and choose what you want.

  • The international community has banned together to condemn a terrorist attack as 35 people were killed in a bombing inside Moscow’s Domodedovo airport

  • Today the heavy rains will be in the central part of the Scotland and England

Look through the newspaper headlines below and make a guess of

what each of them is about: disasters, politics, crime, sensation.














IV. Закрепление нового учебного материала.

1.Беседа о средствах массовой информации в форме «интервью» (преподаватель задаёт вопросы).

  Students, what does each type of media provide us with? Answer the questions, please.

 --- What kind of mass media do you prefer?

 ---Do you use it for entertainment or education?

 ---Where do you usually get news from?

 ---Can we believe in everything written in newspapers?

 ---What source of information helps you in studying?

--- What do we read every day?

--- Why do we have to be very selective nowadays?

---- What do the newspapers contain and give?

--- What do radio programmes broadcast?

--- Where do you buy newspapers?

--- Which programmes do you prefer to watch?

2. Монологи о любимом источнике информации (проверка д.з.).

3.  Well, your home task was to prepare a small report about your favorite source of information. (обсуждение позитивных и негативных сторон каждого вида средств массовой информации.)

   And now let us discuss what benefits and disadvantages every kind of mass media has. 

V. Reflection( Подведение итогов , выставление и комментирование отметок)

Домашнее задание:

Did you like our lesson today? Mass Media is important in our life, isn’t it? What exercise was the most interesting? the most useful for you?

I liked your work very much, you were very active and I`ve seen that you know the topic.

I want you to write down your home task. (учащиеся записывают домашнее задание)

Your home task is to write the «How do I refer to TV» on the topic Mass Media.
