  • введение новой лексики по теме «Save the Earth» и ее первичное закрепление;
  • введение нового грамматического материала Present Perfect Continuous;

  1. Организационный момент

T: Good morning!

S: Good morning!

T: How are you?

S: I’m fine. Thank you. And how are you?

T: I’m fine too. Thanks. Sit down. Who is on duty today?

S: I’m on duty today.

T: What date is it today?

S: Today is …th of December.

T: Who is absent today?

S: Nobody is absent today. (….is/are absent today.)

T: Thank you. Sit down, please.

T: As usual, we start with the phonetic drill. Please repeat after me:

[ I ] – ecology, eclipse, effect, enough, eruption.

[ p ] – protect, pollution, pack, prevention.

[ d ] – dangerous, endangered, damage, desert, destroy.

Look at the title of Module 8. Today we’re talking about one of the most important problems in our life. What is it?

S: Environmental ecology.

T: Do you know what does the word “Ecology” mean?

S:Ecology or. For centuries man had lived in harmony with nature until industrialization brought a human society into conflict with the natural environment. The Earth is the only planet in the solar system where there is life people have been polluting the Earth for centuries but at the same time they become anxious about our planet.

T: You know that people all over the world are worried about what is happening to the environment. They understand that the Earth is their common home, a big green home. What problems are there in the environment today, do you think?

S: Air pollution, water pollution, soil pollution, acid rain, factory waste.

T: Now, boys and girls open your books (p. 76) and then look at the blackboard for some new words. Listen to me at first and then repeat.

Now, please, look at the picture and try to do ex.1 p. 76 using the new word from the blackboard.

S1: At the picture one we can see a power station/factory, toxic fumes, factory waste.

S2: At the picture two we can see factory waste, polluted clouds.

S3: At the picture two we can see loss of natural habitats, air, water and soil pollution, breathing problems, fish and plant species dying, acid rain.

T: Look at the picture again and the heading in the text on p.77. Can you explain the problem?

S: Factories and power stations burn coal, cars burn petrol and emit toxic fumes. This causes air pollution

and acid rain. Acid rain falls on the earth, seas, rivers, etc, causing water and soil pollution.

A lot of fish and plant species are dying.

T: Well, you are right.

T: Now, you have some lists of paper with several task. The fist ex match the words.

S: (What acid rain is & what causes it)

Cars, factories and power plants cause air pollution which is gathered in clouds. These clouds carry this pollution, which makes acid rain, long distances. When it rains, snows or when there is fog or sleet, the atmosphere becomes polluted.

(What its effects are)

The rivers, seas, and soil become polluted. As a result, lots of fish and plant species are poisoned or wiped out. People also have breathing problems.

(What governments are doing & what we can do)

Governments are trying to reduce air pollution and are making industries use new technologies. Wecanuseourcarsless.

T: Today we shall learn new rule- Present Perfect Continuous. (Разбираем правило).

We use the Present Perfect Continuous to talk about actions that beganin the past and are still taking place with emphasis on duration.

  • I’m still watching TV now).
  • They’re still sleeping at the moment).

How long have you been studying? Since the morning/ For five hours.

T: Now, open your books at p.77 ex 5. Lets listen to the sounds and match the people to what they have been doing.

T: Well done, now complete the sentences.

S: 1 has been washing the dishes;

3 has been listening to music;

4 has been watching TV;

5 has been sleeping.

T: Well, look at the next task

Look at the title of Module 8. Today we’re talking about one of the most important problems in our life. What is it?

S:Ecology or Environmental Science is the study of the relationships between living organisms and their environment. For centuries man had lived in harmony with nature until industrialization brought a human society into conflict with the natural environment. The Earth is the only planet in the solar system where there is life people have been polluting the Earth for centuries but at the same time they become anxious about our planet.

T: You know that people all over the world are worried about what is happening to the environment. They understand that the Earth is their common home, a big green home. What problems are there in the environment today, do you think?

S: Air pollution, water pollution, soil pollution, acid rain, factory waste.

T: Now, boys and girls open your books (p. 76) and then look at the blackboard for some new words. Listen to me at first and then repeat.

Now, please, look at the picture and try to do ex.1 p. 76 using the new word from the blackboard.
