Тема урока: TALKINGABOUTTHEFAMOUS (Говорим о знаменитостях)
Класс: 5
Цель урока: Формировать умение составлять сообщения об известных людях Великобритании через кодирование информации в схемы и использование подстановочных таблиц
Задачи:
практические - активизировать знания, умения и навыки учащихся по теме; развивать умение работать с текстом, учить логически строить высказывание на основе прочитанной и переработанной информации;
развивающие – развивать кругозор учащихся, развивать способности к распределению внимания, к догадке, к анализу и синтезу; стимулировать навык критического мышления и самостоятельного осмысления полученной информации;
воспитательные – создавать возможность для проявления индивидуальных способностей учащихся; воспитание потребности в получении знаний о мировой культуре и истории. Повысить мотивацию учащихся к изучению английского языка, оптимизируя процесс обучения с помощью использования элементов технологии развития критического мышления.
образовательные – познакомить с некоторыми фактами из жизни знаменитых людей.
Оборудование и раздаточные материалы – проектор, мультимедийная доска, презентация Power Point, карточки с заданиями.
Ход урока:
Организационный момент, введение темы (Слайд 1)
Hello, boys and girls! Nice to meet you! How are you today? I’m glad to hear you’re fine and ready to work. So look at this slide. Can you predict the topic of our lesson today? You’re right. We’re going to talk about famous British people. Do you know the names of these people?
2. Complete the plan of our lesson! What are we going to do at the lesson?

make reports about famous people;
answer the questions;

listen to the interview;
read the text;
work in groups;
play the game.

3. At the last lesson we got to introduce with some famous people of Great Britain. And you should prepare the messages about the famous people of Great Britain for the today's lesson. Who is ready for beginning to retell the message?
Many years ago a young doctor began to write stories about a man who was a detective. Readers liked his stories because they were very interesting and the doctor decided to become a writer. The doctor was Conan Doyle and he wrote about Sherlock Holmes.
Conan Doyle wrote his first story about Sherlock Holmes in 1887. In this story the detective meets his friend Dr. Watson. Holmes and Watson lived at 221 В Baker Street in London.
William Turner (1775-1851)
William Turner was the son of a barber [ЪсиЬэ] (парикмахер). At the age of fifteen he exhibited [ig'zibitid](выставил) his first picture.
Turner was very fond of nature and often went alone on trips (путешествовалодин) through England and Wales. While travelling, he liked to draw ruined(разрушенные) abbeys and castles [Wslz](замки).
Turner was famous for the wonderful colours in his pictures. Most of them were landscapes(пейзажи) and sea pictures. He was a master of watercolours(акварель).
William Shakespeare was born in April 1564. He wrote 154 sonnets. He educated at the local grammar school, where he studied Latin authors and dramatists, logic. Then he went to London. He wrote many plays. His famous works are "Hamlet", "Romeo and Juliet".
Daniel Defoe is an English writer. His famous novel is "The life and Strange Surprising Adventures of Robinson Crusoe". He wrote this novel when he was 60 years old. Defoe didn't write his book for children. But nearly every child now knows about Robinson Crusoe, how he learned to catch gouts and to make pots, how he made an umbrella and had hundred of adventures.
Charles Chaplin was born in London, England, on April 1889. Chaplin didn’t t have a very happy childhood. When his mother got ill, Chaplin and his brother went to the workhouse, which was the place for orphans. He started his career as an actor when he was nine. When he was twenty-one, he joined a traveling music-hall company. Soon after he went to America and became the famous star, Charlie Chaplin. The actor died in 1977 but we still remember his «Little Tramp», a funny little man in baggy trousers and a small bowler hat.
Pamela Travels is an English writer, actress and journalist. She is famous for her novels about magical nanny Mary Poppins.
Agatha Christie is known all over the world as the Queen of Crime. She wrote 78 detective novels, 19 plays, and 6 romantic novels. Her books have been translated into 103 foreign languages. Many of her novels and short stories have been filmed. She began writing at the end of the First World War. Her first novel, "The Mysterious Affair at Styles" was published in 1920. That was the first appearance of Hercule Poirot. When Agatha Cristie got tired of Hercule Poirot she invented Miss Marpie. Agatha Christie's language is simple and good and it is pleasant to read her books in the original.
John Lennon was an English writer, guitar player and song-writer. He was a member of the Beatles. The Beatles was one of the most popular musical english groups. The group became famous in 1962. The group included Paul Mc. Cartney, John Lennon, George Harrison and Ringo Starr. Every time the Beatles arrived somewhere many fans greeted them. Their famous songs were ''Yesterday'', ''Let it Be'', ''Lady Madonna'', and others.
Now I suggest you to listen and sing all together the song of «The Beatles» «Yesterday»
Mark Twain was an American writer. He is famous for his books "The Adventures of Tom Sawyer"
Charles Darwin was born in the beginning of the 19th century. He was a great biologist. He created a new theory of evolution. Once there were only simple organisms living in the seas, hundreds millions of years they have developed to produce all the different kind animals and plants we knew today.
4.These people had certain occupations which made them famous. Last lesson we studied suffixes to make up word meaning different kinds of professions. Now let’s revise them. Good work.

6. - Look at the screen! Do you know these characters? Do you know the authors of the characters? Match the books with their writers.

8.Do you like to read? What book would you like to read and why?
9. Работа с текстом (Слайд 5).
You know John Lennon was a famous British musician. In this text you’ll find some new information about him and his group “The Beatles”. While reading fill in the gaps. You will work until you hear the song of this group.
10. Now I want you to split into groups. You’ll make up short stories about J. Turner, J. Tolkien, С. Darwin. Use the schema and basic words.

Tell your classmates about any famous man or woman you admire. Don't tell then his/her name. Let your classmates guess who she/he is. (Слайд 8)
