Why don't you devote the whole school day to the nearest and dearest?
In the school hall you can exhibit dif¬ferent project works on such topics as "My Family Tree", "My Life Story", "What Father Means", etc. You can also organize reciting or learning family rhymes and poems right at the lessons. You can speak about family traditions or the most unforgettable day from the life of your family as well. During the breaks it's advisable to show a family video film. It's not a bad idea to have "The Tree of Wishes (Love)" where the students can stick their notes with the best words to the nearest and the dear¬est.

It's Family Day at School
Why don't you devote the whole school day to the nearest and dearest?
In the school hall you can exhibit different project works on such topics as "My Family Tree", "My Life Story", "What Father Means", etc. You can also organize reciting or learning family rhymes and poems right at the lessons. You can speak about family traditions or the most unforgettable day from the life of your family as well. During the breaks it's advisable to show a family video film. It's not a bad idea to have "The Tree of Wishes (Love)" where the students can stick their notes with the best words to the nearest and the dearest. That will help and teach them to express their love and understand the feelings of others.
To crown it all why don't you organize any party devoted to the family life?
Some preparatory work should definitely be done. Make a "Picture Gallery" of family pictures including funny ones. Decorate the hall with proverbs and sayings about a family. Make a large colourful family tree, etc.
"The Nearest and Dearest" (the Party)
Compere. What makes a family? Most of us usually say: "My father, mother, sister, brother". Certainly, it's the first thing we think of. But today we'll see that there is something much deeper and bigger in the word "family". Let's find out.
1. About me: (Act out)
Here I am. I`ve just been born.
And my mother and father
Are singing this song:
Boys - fathers: How many fingers? How many toes? How many eyes Beside his nose?
Girls - mothers: Ten little fingers. Ten little toes. Two big brown eyes And a little pig-nose.
About Grandpa:
Here is my grandpa
He's kind and full of joy
He knows lots of stories
And makes wonderful toys
We don't play football
But can talk all day long.
When we stay together I'm never bored.
About Granny:
When parents go out and tell me
"Good-bye" I'm quite sad and even want to cry.
But here comes Granny to tell me, "Good night"
She kisses me tender and sings
a lullaby:
Any lullaby, e.g.:
" Hickory-dickory-dock.
The mouse ran up the clock.
The clock struck one
The mouth ran down.
Hickory-dickory-dock".
About my brother:
Many little children
Have no brother small,
Have no little sister
And cannot play at all,
But I've got a brother
We call him little John
Sometimes he's very naughty
But still we love him all.
LITTLE JOHN
Jumping, jumping, never still.
Running, laughing, with all will,
All the day and some at night
Playing hard with all his might.
Oh, what's that I hear?
Do I see a little tear?
Does my brother ever cry?
Why, no, see now, his eyes are dry!
When it's time to go to bed
He gets his blocks and nods his head.
He knows there'll be another day
For us to run and jump and play.
About my sister:
And here is my sister.
She teaches me to dance.
She says it's very easy.
So, let us start at once!
Any dance, e.g.:
1, 2, 3 on the tip — toes/- twice
1, 2, 3 turn around Clap, clap step aside
About Mum:
I have two balls, many toys and
a brother
And I'm very, very fond of my mother
Who fed me when I was a child? My mother.
Who comforted me in her arms
so mild?
My mother.
Who sat and watched my childish head
When I slept in my little bed? My mother.
When sickness made me cry in pain
Who nursed me till I was well again? My mother.
Who dressed my little doll so gaily?
And taught me songs and games daily? My mother.
Who rushed to help me we when I fell
And was always ready new stories
to tell?
My mother.
Who is so busy from morning till night
To keep our family happy and bright? My mother.
My dear Mummy, I like the way you look.
I like the way you cook
Now what I really want to say
Is "Be happy and healthy every day".
About Dad:
WHAT MAKES A DAD
God took the strength of a mountain,
The majesty of a tree,
The warmth of a summer sun,
The calm of a quite sea,
The generous soul of nature,
The comforting arm of night,
The wisdom of the ages,
The power of the eagle's flight,
The joy of a morning in spring,
The faith of a mustard seed,
The patience of eternity
The depth of a family need.
The God combined these qualities
When there was nothing more to add
He knew His masterpiece was complete
And so,
He called it... Dad.
My Dad is a person
Who is loving and kind
And often he knows
What you have on your mind.
My Dad is a person
Who wishes you well
And keeps all the secrets
That you want to tell.
He's someone who listens,
Suggests and defends.
A dad can be one
Of your very best friends.
He is proud of your triumphs
But when things go wrong
My dad can be patient
And helpful and strong.
In all that you do
A dad's love plays a part.
There is always a place for him
Deep in my heart.
And each year that passes
I`m even more glad
More grateful and proud
Just to call him my Dad!
8. What We Do Together Is Easy To Do
We are a friendly family
And help each other too
Because what we do together
Is easy and funny to do.
