The theme: « Music that changes lives»
The aims:

Educational- To enrich pupils’ speech using vocabulary, using of Present Perfect Continuous tense, developing listening activities
Developing- To develop the student's reading, writing, listening and speaking skills.
Bringing-up- To teach students to love music and to develop pupils` aesthetic culture.

The type of the lesson: combinational

The variety: studying new material

Methods of teaching: Insert, demonstration, exercises.

b) Introduction of the lesson’s theme.

-How do you think what is the theme of our lesson?

-Yes, the theme of our lesson is “ Music”

III. Brainstorming. Today we shall speak about different styles in music.What is music for you?

1. Answer the questions.

T. But what role does music play in your life?

P1. Music helps us to live and learn.

T. What does music reflect?

P2. It reflects our mood, our state of soul, our style of life.

T. Where can we hear music?

P3. We can hear music everywhere: in concert halls, shops, on TV, over the radio, in the parks, at homes, in transport and even in the street.

T. What do you think about when you listen to music?

P4. When I listen to music I forget about everything.

P5. When I listen to music I want to sing and dance.

P6. When I listen to music it makes me think of happy and dark days.

P7. When I listen to music I dream about my future life.

I want to divide you into two groups. Please, come up to me! Choose the cards!. Choose your sits. Now let`s begin our lesson with the presentation of the groups

Berimbau is a single- string percussion instrument from Brazil. The berimbau is used in the practice of the Afro-Brazilian martial art capoeira.

Capoeira is an Afro- Brazilian art from that makes a ritual of movements from martial arts, games and dance.

Listen to some brief information and try to guess what type of music it is.

T. 1. Some people say it is difficult to understand this music. But try to listen to it. It is played by big orchestras. If you listen to this music often enough and attentively, you will enjoy Mozart and Beethoven, Tchaikovsky and Shostakovich.

2. One can hear this music at theatres, on TV and over the radio. This music was composed by such great composers as Mozart, Verdi, Tchaikovsky, Prokofiev, Schostakovich. Performers usually sing or dance to this music.

3. This music is popular mostly with young people. It is performed by modern electronic instruments. The dictionary defines this music as “modern music of a simple kind with a strong beat and not usually of lasting interest, liked especially by younger people”. It is not difficult for understanding. It’s unusual and exciting and it’s the way of sharing all our hopes and fears.

 4. . This music lives for centuries. Every nation has its own national music and dance ensembles. – This music totally belongs to the traditions. It is often gifted from one generation to the next. Most of the tunes or music have unknown original authors. This music is also used for a modern popular music which is based on the traditional music and uses guitars type instruments instead of traditional instruments.



5. It is a musical style where the singer speaks or shouts the words. It gained momentum during the 1960s. Instruments like guitar, drums and bass are used with a strong vocal melody in style. It is usually created with a strong back beat. This music is nearly inseparable with guitar as it is played around the guitars mainly. It had fast tampered songs on electric guitars and was played with obscure lyrics.



6. . It is an American style of music. The constant elements are improvisation .It was created in the United States by black Americans. It is a mixture of many different kinds of music. It originated as gospel and blues music of the Deep South. It is often identified by its strong and prominent meter. Its Pitch and timbre are often distorted in it and it also employs a vary degree of improvisations.



7.You can hear this music every day and everywhere. There are a lot of musical groups who perform this kind of music.It is a musical form of vocal delivery that incorporates »rhyme»,which is performed or chanted in a variety of ways,usually over a backbeat or musical accompaniment.
