Music that changes lives

     The great majority of musical   instruments fall readily into one of six major categories: bowed strings, woodwind, brass, percussion, keyboard, and the guitar family, the first four of which form the basis of the modern simpony orchestra. A musical instrument is an instrument created or adapted to make musical sounds.

  Traditional  music of the Kazakh people is a rich treasury of spiritual heritage. Musical instruments are: Kobyz, zhetygen, sherter, sybyzgy, dombra, dabyl, astayak, dangyra.

   Kobyz is a bow instrument with two strings.

   Zhetygen is an ancient sevenstringed plucking instrument, which reminds of gusli or lying harp.

   Sherter is an ancient stringed plucking instrument.Sherter is played the same way as dombra.

   Sybyzgy amongst the wind instrument.

   Dombra is the most widely used Kazakh folk instrument.
