Air pollution
About 150 years ago the air was pure and clean. Then people started building factories and making cars, which put a lot of harmful gases into the air. Today the air is so polluted in some places.
In many cities in America we have air polluted with “smog” too. This is so strong in some places that the air, which should be a beautiful blue, looks brown.
Polluted air is not only bad for people and animals, but also for trees and plants. Acid rains also have bad influence on our health.
So it`s very important for us to clean up the air we all breathe.

- And do you know how to behave in the forest?
- We don’t know.
- Listen and remember: We must put out the fire carefully; we mustn’t take wild animals home. Also we mustn’t cut down trees, we mustn’t kill animals, and we mustn’t drop litter in the forest. You see?
- Yes and now we know how to behave before and after picnic.

Air pollution
About 150 years ago the air was pure and clean. Then people started building factories and many of the things they make, like cars, put a lot of harmful gases into the air. Today the air is so polluted in some places that it`s not always safe to breathe there.
Many cities around the world have air polluted with “smog”. This is so strong in some places that the air, which should be a beautiful blue, looks brown.
Polluted air is not only bad for people and animals, but also for trees and plants. And in some places it`s even damaging farmers` crops – the food we eat. So it`s very important for us to “clean up our act”, and clean up the air we all breathe.
