Развивающие задачи : развивать у учащихся познавательную

деятельность , мыслительную активность ,

умение выделять главное .

Оборудование : мультимедийный проектор и экран , карта мира , портрет

Э . Хеменгуея , текст рассказа .

1. Организационная часть урока . ( Приветствие и беседа с дежурным учеником . ) Краткое сообщение о предстоящей работе на уроке .

Today we have the lesson of homereading . The aim of the lesson is to

teach you to treat the plot as part of the writer’s intention . You are

to explain its structure and point out its merits and limitations in

order to arrive at a conclusion concerning the importance of the plot

for the author’s purpose .

Let’s revise the story (прослушивание аудиозаписи рассказа ) – запись прилагается.

2 . Please , answer the questions :

1. Is the plot made out of many incidents or few ? ( one )

2 ) Are the incidents taken from real life ?

1. Which of the following adjectives describe(s) the plot best :

simple ,trivial , interesting , clever , dramatic ,romantic ,highly imaginative ?

3 . Nearly every plot contains the following elements :

1 ) the introduction

2 ) the turning point

3 ) the falling action

Due to this , please give a summary of this story . Begin with the

following : “ The story opens with the descriptions of …”

4 . What are the details of the story ?

We have to do the next task . Find and read aloud sentences

describing :

1. the autumn in Milan ;

2. the different ways to the hospital ;

3. the hospital itself ;

4. the soldiers getting treatment in the hospital ;

5. the professions the young men were studying before the war .

Find facts to prove that the following statements are true :

1. The wounded men did not believe that the treatment would help them.

2. The life plans of the men were destroyed by the war .

3. The major is the main character of the story .

5. Now you can answer the following questions and formulate your own

point of view about the story and its main characters .

1. What did the author get his medal for ?

2. Did he consider himself brave ?

3. Why did the young men from Milan change their manner towards

the author ?

1. Was the major brave ? Why do you think so ?

5) Why was the lieutenant detached ?

6. Our country Russia , former the USSR , took part in some wars .

What were they ? Do you know any heroes of these wars ?

May be even your grandparents took part in the Great Patriotic War ?

But people of all nations must avoid war conflicts and maintain

peace all over the world .

7 . I suggest you now some quotes from the story , choose one you like most of all and try to explain your understanding of it . ( Цитаты прилагаются.)
