Цели и задачи занятия: развивать у студентов диалогические и монологические навыки, умение слушать и понимать информацию на английском языке по изучаемой теме, умение высказывать свое мнение; пополнить лексический запас по теме; пропагандировать активный и здоровый образ жизни; повторение и активизация времен Present Perfect, Past Simple.

Приветствие, постановка задач и объяснение темы.
Hello, my dear friends! I am glad to see you. I’m sure that you are full of energy and ready to do our lesson interesting and rich. The theme of our lesson is: “Sports”.
We are going to discuss the importance and necessity of doing sports regularly.
Nowadays the development of technology has achieved fantastic levels. On one hand it makes humans’ life easier, but from the other hand it reduces people’s physical activity and as a result it has negative influence on their health. That is why it becomes very actual doing sports regularly to keep fit and healthy.

The Present Perfect Tense.
(Настоящее совершенное время).
Образование
Present Perfect образуется при помощи глагола to have в Present Indefinite и Participle II (Причастия II) смыслового глагола.

Употребление
Для выражения действия, завершившегося к моменту речи. Время действия не указывается, важен сам факт совершения действия к настоящему моменту или его результат. В этом случае часто употребляются следующие наречия времени: just, already, yet, lately, recently.
She has already done her homework. Она уже выполнила домашнее задание. (Действие завершено к моменту речи.)
Для выражения действия, которое завершилось, но тот период, в котором оно происходило, ещё продолжается и может быть обозначен обстоятельствами времени today, this week, this month.
I have written a report this week. Я написал доклад на этой неделе.
Для выражения действия, которое началось в прошлом и продолжается до настоящего времени.
I have known since my childhood. Я знаю его с детства.
I have known him for 4 years. Я знаю его 4 года.
Present Perfect может употребляться с наречиями always, often, seldom, ever, never.
She has always wanted to visit this country. Она всегда хотела посетить эту страну.
Have you ever been to New York? Вы когда-нибудь были в Нью-Йорке?
Как отличить время Present Perfect от времени Past Simple.
Past Simple употребляется, когда речь идет о:
а) действии, произошедшем в установленный момент в прошлом. (Paul went swimming yesterday.)
b) действии, которое началось и закончилось в прошлом.(Paul wrote his composition in an hour.)
Present Perfect употребляется, когда речь идет о:
а) действии, которое произошло в неопределенное время в прошлом (They have cleaned their classroom.)
b) действии, которое началось в прошлом и все еще продолжается в настоящем. (She has studied at this college for three years.)

FROM THE HISTORY OF SPORTS
Basketball.
Basketball is a game appeared at the end of the nineteenth century. It was introduced by James Naismith, a college coach during the winter of 1891-1892. He wanted to train his students between the end of the football season and the beginning of the baseball season. He placed food baskets on the walls at the opposite ends of the gymnasium and organized nine-men teams who played with a ball used for football. Each team tried to throw the ball into the other team’s basket and at the same time tried to keep that team from throwing the ball into their basket. The students had a lot of exercise, they moved a lot about the gymnasium, jumped and ran. They liked the game and called it basketball.
Nowadays the game itself is the same but there are many changes in it. For example, there are five players in a team. This game is very popular in Europe, where it was brought during World War 1. It is interesting that at first basketball was an indoor game, and in America it is still played indoors. But almost in all other countries it is an outdoor game.
