Тема урока: The political systems of UK and Russia

Задачи урока:
1. Формировать у учащихся целостное представление о политической системе Объединённого Королевства Великобритании и Северной Ирландии.
2. Познакомить учащихся с политической системой России, его работой и лексикой по этой теме.
3. Подвести учащихся к умению сделать сравнение двух политических систем правления Объединённого Королевства Великобритании и России.
4. Привить чувство гордости за свою страну и интерес к более глубокому познанию темы урока.
5. Развивать и формировать на основе прочитанного текста следующие умения:
- находить требуемую информацию в тексте;
- трансформировать полученную информацию для ответов на вопросы;
- пользоваться знаниями, полученными из других предметов школьной программы;
- выделять главные факты и составлять короткие сообщения.
- анализировать, сравнивать и суммировать полученную информацию.
Тип урока: комбинированный
Оборудование урока: карта Объединённого Королевства Великобритании, компьютер, мультимедиа, магнитофон, таблица « Политическая структура Объединённого Королевства Великобритании и Северной Ирландии», портреты глав двух государств - Великобритании и России, карточки, презентация«The British Parliament».

I. Организационный момент и приветствие.

The teacher: Good morning, my dear friends! Nice to meet you! Are you fine?

Children: Good morning, Olga Victorovna! Nice to meet you too! We are fine, thank you.
The teacher: Who is on duty today? Is anybody absent today? - What is the date today?
The pupil on duty: I am on duty today. All are present. Today is the ____ of ______.

The teacher: Look at the portraits and the words on the blackboard and try to guess what topic we are going to discuss at our lesson today.
The pupil 1: Today we are going to speak about the British Parliament.
The teacher: You are right. Thank you. You may sit.
The pupil 2: I think we are going to speak about the Russian Parliament too.
The teacher : You are right too. But why do you think so?
The pupil2: I think so because I see a portrait of Russian President on the blackboard.
The teacher: Do you know the names of these two famous people?
The pupil 3: Yes, I do. This beautiful woman is the Queen of UK Elizabeth II and the full name of our President is Dmitriy Anatolievich Medvedev.
The teacher : Thank you. Take you place, please.
The pupil 4: I think we are going to revise the words and word- combinations on the topic "The British Parliament” and to learn new words.
The teacher : You are right. Thank you. Sit down.

II. Отработка произношения ранее изученной лексики и её употребление в речи.

The teacher :

1) And now it’s time to practice today’s vocabulary. Open your books on page 55 and find exercise1. Listen to the tape recorder and read after the speaker.
2) Look at the shit of paper which is on your desk and do Task №1. Use a word or а word combination from box A and a part of a sentence from box B to complete the sentence. Read and translate the sentences from English into Russian. You’ll have 3 minutes.

III.Контроль домашнего задания (Работа с текстом)
The teacher: What was the homework for today?
The pupil: We had to look through the text "The Houses of Parliament” on pages 61 and 62 in our textbook once more and to look for interesting information about the British Parliament in the Internet.
The teacher: What else were you given for today?
The pupil: Exercise D on page 55 was given for today. We had to write questions for the answers about the political system in Russia and find more information if necessary.
The teacher : Well, you’ ve learnt a lot about the British Parliament and now I’m going to give you a task on reading. Look through the text «The British Parliament» on the сard №1 and find the title for each passage.

The teacher: Who wants to draw the pattern of the UK political system on the blackboard?
One of the pupils draws the pattern of the UK political system on the blackboard while others do the task on reading. (It was the individual home task on pupils’ wish).
The teacher: Now change with each other your sheet of paper and check up the answers which you see on the board.

The teacher:

2. Is Russia a monarchy, a republic or a federation?
3. Who is the head of state in Russia?
4. What is the Russian Parliament called?
5. Who is the head of the government in Russia?
6. How many chambers does Federal Assembly consist of? Name them.
7. How often do people in Russia vote for the deputies?
8. Who chooses the Prime Minister in Russia?
9. What do the deputies do in the State Duma?
