Is Monday your favourite day at school?
S. It’s my favourite day at school because we have English today and it is my favourite subject.
Teacher:
Do you like going to school?
S. Yes’ I do. I can learn a lot of interesting things at school.

Yes, you are right. We shall talk about schools but not only about Russian ones. We will find out a lot of interesting information about different schools around the world. It is the topic of our lesson.

Teacher:
And what comes you to mind when you hear the word “school?” Why do you go to school? What for? You have to write down your ideas on cluster (работают в парах, заполняя кластеры).

S. We study in co – educational state school.
Teacher:
You know that there are some school rules which students must follow. They are on the screen. Which of them are true for our school. Let’s discuss what would you like to change.

S1 All students have to wear a uniform in our school. I think that it is uncomfortable and funny.
S2 As for me, I think students should wear a uniform because it helps to be disciplined and feel equal. If everybody wears his/her favourite clothes school will turn into fashion show.
S3 Our school gym is good but it would be good to have a football ground.
b). Работа с текстом (чтение, письмо)
Teacher:
And what do you know about schools around the world? Let’s find out some interesting information about them. Open our books page 46 and do exercises 2 and 3. While reading the text make notes:

c). Практика аудирования
По окончании работы с текстом учащиеся прослушивают его аудиозапись, проверяя правильность выполнения упражнения 3а. Затем учащиеся зачитывают и поясняют свои пометки, которые они сделали во время работы с текстом.
d) Практика устной речи по прочитанному
S1. It was interesting for me to find out that in some schools in the USA subjects include comic book art, song writing and yoga. I like this idea.
S2. In Japan students have to get to school two or more hours on public transport.
I don’t like this idea.
S3. In South Korea students spend a lot of time at school and get home almost at midnight. I think it’s terrible.
