- to understand an article about basketball from a children’s magazine;
- identify words and their meanings in a text;

Introduction
At this lesson students will revise the vocabulary of the unit «Sports». They will learn the history of a basketball game. Learn some new words. At the end of the lesson students will make posters.
Procedure
Lead-in (5 min)
A game with the flashcards. Students stand in circle and pass the flashcards pronouncing the words to one another. When the teacher says “stop”, the student holding a flashcard makes up a sentence with the word given in a flashcard
Introduce the topic (5 min)
A game “4 pictures- 1 word”. Students are given 4 pictures, they should guess the common word (words: trophy, racket, basketball)
-So, the theme of our lesson is basketball. Today you will learn the history of basketball, listen to the text about basketball and do some tasks according to the text
