THEME: What`s the temperature?
Aims of the lesson: a) To enable pupils to talk about the temperature
b) To practice listening for the main idea
c) To practice making notes
1. Greeting:
Good morning pupils!
Who is on duty today?

What was your home task for today?
Warmer
Objective: to help pupils saying the new words
Time: 2 minutes
Materials: Flashcards (temperature, degree, hot, warm, cool, cold, freezing, fall,rise, thermometer)
Interaction: individual, the whole class
Procedure:
Warmer:
-Try to introduce the new words temperature, degree, hot, warm, cool, cold, freezing, fall,rise, thermometer with the pictures Pupils say the new words in their mother tongue
-Teacher after saying a correct word show a red card (it means excellent mark, blue card means good answer, yellow card means satisfactory). For example: T: It is minus … (when the temperature is under 0)”?
PP: It is minus five degrees
Presentation: Pre-listening(watching) activity: Activity 1: To introduce new words
Teacher puts the picture on the blackboard and reads them in turn after the teacher, kids repeat the words. Then teacher works individually and reads the new words and a pupil repeat the words, the process continues in this way.
Activity 2 Listen, say and point.(watching the video) Objectives: To put the video about temperature and wheather.
Time: 4 minutes
Materials:The video of weather and temperature
Interaction: group work.
Procedure:
- Listen, say and point. Make groups in four. For example.according to their seats.
- Group “1”, group “2”, group “3”, group “4”
- Show the flashcards of the weather
- Say “Listen and point”. Say “ the sun”. Pupils show the flashcard of a sun, or cold they show the card winter. And so on.
Activity 2 Listen and sing.
Objectives: Practising the activity for developing listening skills with the song.
Time: 10 minutes
Materials: CD, tape-recorder
Interaction: Group work and the whole class.
Pre –Listening activities:
Step one:
Teacher explains the song is about.
Dear pupils this song is very funny and we will sing it with pleasure. This song was written and composed by Maggie LLI. This song tells about weather.
Step two:
Teacher explains new words on the blackboard with cards.
Procedure:
- Listen and sing. Ask the pupils to listen to the CD and point the weathers. Play the CD. Pupils listen and point to the weather
- Play the CD again in small sections. Pupils repeat.
- Play the whole CD again. Teach the song to the pupils. When pupils know the song, they repeat the whole song altogether.

Activity 3 Listen, write and read.
Objectives: Checking pupils’ listening skills
Time: 4 minutes
Materials: The song about the weather
Procedure:
- Listen and write new words from the song and read, try to translate.
- Say “Listen and repeat”. Say it is rainy a pupil shows the card rainy weather and teacher shares with him a red card, if the pupil shows the sunny weather teacher gives him a yellow card(it means unsatisfactory mark)
Home assignment:
Ask the pupils to draw the weather(sunny, rainy, snowy days)
