«Разработка урока английского языка по теме "Занятия в свободное время"»
Good morning, dear students! I am glad to see you. How are you today? Let’s watch the video and try to guess the theme of our lesson.
You are quite right. The theme of our lesson is “Leisure. Free time activities.” In fact, it is very interesting to speak about free time activities and hobbies in our life. I think they help us to make our life more interesting and happier. Today we’ll speak about different ways of spending our free time.
The aim of our lesson: to discuss favourite leisure activities
What do we need for dialogue? What are our tasks?
Our tasks:
to revise the words and word combinations on today’s topic;
to revise adverbs of frequency;
to learn some interesting ways of spending free time;
to speak about your leisure and free-time activities;
1. So let’s look at the first task and revise words and word combinations on the topic “Free time activities”
Open your books at page 10 and find Ex 1 Let’s read phrases and explain the meanings.
1.1 Usually when people speak about their free time they use phrases like these:
I`m fond of …– мне нравится
I`m keen on… - я увлекаюсь
I`m crazy/ mad about… - я увлечен, помешан на…
I prefer… - я предпочитаю
I`m interested in… - я интересуюсь …
I`m good at — у меня хорошо получается …
Let`s speak about your leisure activities. Answer my question: “What do you usually do in your free time?” Begin your answer like that.
Look at your desks and find “Self-assessment card” Find task 1 there and put a mark to yourself :5/4/3
2 When we speak about leisure and free-time activities, we usually use adverbs of frequency. Let`s read and translate them: always, usually, often, never, sometimes, hardly ever.
We use adverbs of frequency to say how often something happens. We normally put an adverb of frequency after the verb be (he is sometimes lazy, they are never late), and before all verbs (I sometimes go swimming, she hardly ever watches TV). Now complete the chart with the adverbs of frequency
Let’s read Liam’s monologue about his Saturday. After you read it, complete the sentences with the correct adverbs of frequency. Take these cards
Liam: I usually get up late on Saturday morning at about ten or eleven o`clock. I have a shower. I never have breakfast. I play online games or I do my homework. I hardly ever watch TV in the morning – the programmes are always really boring. In the afternoon, I usually go out with my friends. We play football or basketball in the park. In the evening I sometimes watch sport on TV with my dad. At about ten o`clock, Mum always says, “Go to bed”. But I`m never tired at ten o`clock. But I go upstairs and I often read magazines in my bedroom or I do my homework. I`m always in bed before midnight.
Liam gets up late on Saturday morning (adverb).
He watches TV on Saturday morning (adverb).
In the evening, he watches sport on TV (adverb).
He is tired at 10 o`clock in the evening (adverb).
He reads magazines in his bedroom (adverb).
He is in bed before midnight (adverb).
Now let’s check it together.
Liam usually gets up late on Saturday morning
He hardly ever watches TV on Saturday morning
In the evening he sometimes watches sport on TV
He is never tired at 10 o`clock in the evening
He often reads magazines in his bedroom
He is always in bed before midnight
Now take your “Self-assessment card” Find task 2 there and put a mark to yourself :5/4/3
3.Now let’s learn some interesting ways of spending free time. Let’s look at the pictures on the board and learn some new words (white-water rafting, gardening, fishing, sky-diving, martial arts, board games, snowboarding, archery, aerobics)
Now, please, copy this scheme into your exercise-book
To practice new vocabulary let’s open your WB at page 13 and do Ex 1Look at the picture, write the words and complete sentences about yourselves.
But we need some more ideas about spending free time. So, let’s watch one more video and complete our scheme. While watching and listening, write some more ideas into your exercise books.
What new words and phrases have you written down? (make travel plans, go to the gym, go clubbing, walk around the city, hiking and biking) Very good of you! Well-done!
Again take your “Self-assessment card” Find task 3 there and put a mark to yourself :5/4/3
4. Now we are ready with task 4. Please, work in pairs and make up some dialogues about how do you spend your free time. I’ll give you 7 minutes to do this task. You may use the questions on the screen.
-Do you have enough free time?
-What do you do in your free time?
-How often do you ...?
-Where do you spend your free time?
-Who do you spend your free time with?
Now let’s listen to your dialogues.
Put excellent marks into your “Self-assessment card” because all of you were successful!
Now find pink and green stickers on your desks. If your marks were 5 and 4 today, come out and sick a green sticker on the board. If satisfactory-a red sticker. I’s very glad that all of you were successful.
Today all of you succeeded in your speaking. Now you can easily speak out on this topic “Free time activities”. You were very active today. And I would like to thank everyone. So, our lesson is over. Good-bye!
