Тип урока: урок изучения нового материала.

Формы работы: фронтальная, индивидуальная, групповая, парная.

Цель (предполагаемый результат): предполагается, что к окончанию урока учащиеся смогут рассказать о любимом музыкальном стиле музыки.

Задачи: создать условия для активного речевого взаимодействия; содействовать развитию навыков восприятия и понимания речи на слух у учащихся; содействовать развитию умений оценивать результат своей деятельности.

Дидактическое оснащение:

1. Английский язык/ Англійская мова: учебное пособие для 8-го кл. учреждений общ. сред. образования с белорус. и рус. яз. обучения (повыш. уровень) : с электронным приложение. В 2 ч. Ч 2/ Н. В. - So, according to this audio can you tell me what we are going to speak about?

- You are absolutely right. Today I want you to remember music and music styles.

- Let’s try to set the goals of the lesson:

1) learn the words;

2) describe music styles;

3) speak about your favourite music style.

You see our goals on the blackboard. When we reach one of the goals tell me and we'll mark it.

- Pay attention on your own “Self- Assessment Card”. During the lesson think how you can assess yourself and at the end will compare with my opinion.

- Well, you heard some snippets of different music styles. Can you name them? What music styles can you add?

-There are a lot of music styles in the world and if we want to describe them, we need to remind some adjectives which will help us to describe the music styles.

- Now let’s know you can describe some styles. I’ll give you the cards with the names of music styles. You need to write the adjectives to their styles. The first 30 second is for you. Then you work in pairs and help each other. You have 1 minute. And the last step – you’ll work in group. You also have 1 minute.

- Good job!

Усвоение новых знаний.

- Music can be divided into classical, folk, and pop music. People of different ages usually prefer to listen to different styles of music. Young people prefer to listen to more energetic styles, and older people prefer to classical styles.

- Now I want you to find the difference between their tastes. I’ll give you parts of the text with some opinions. You need to read these parts and say in one phrase how they described the music styles. But before the reading pay attention on some new words and phrases. They will help you to understand the meaning.

- Well, how people described music styles? With which phrases?

Students read the texts and answer the questions.

- The next task for you is to work with new words from your texts. You need to match new words with the definitions.

-I believe that you’ve already understood the difference between styles and let’s check it. Let’s stand up, divide into two groups. The first group will take the names of music styles, the second group will take their definitions. You need to match.

- Previously we knew the tastes in music of people of different ages. But what about you and your friends? What music styles are popular among you?

- So, I want you to listen to teens speaking about their favourite music styles. After the first listening you’ll tell me about styles what have been mentioned and what bands and musicians have been mentioned? Listen to the speaking the second time and fill in the gaps in your cards. Do you need the third time to listen?

Classical music is often performed by an orchestra [ˈɔːkɪstrə], a choir [ˈkwaɪə] or a soloist [ˈsəʊləʊɪst]. People usually say a “piece” of classical music rather than a “tune” or “song”.

Folk music often expresses the character of ethnic and social groups and sometimes a nation. It is the music of the people. A folk song can express political or religious beliefs, tell a story or describe history.

Country music is probably the most famous kind of folk music and is popular in many parts of the world.

Jazz and blues come from the USA. Jazz has a strong rhythm [ˈrɪðəm]. The melody can be played by ear. Blues is also of music famous for being sad. The lyrics are often about people’s difficult lives.

Every country in the world has its own pop stars. Pop is short for “popular” music and it means the most common form of music. Wherever you go in the world, it’s easy to hear music from famous musicians [mjuːˈzɪʃn] like Ed Sheeran or Billie Eilish whether you want to or not!

Rock music is famous for being loud! Rock groups use electric guitars, bass [ˈbeɪs] guitars, and drums to create music with a strong beat and lots of energy. There are lots of sub-genres of rock such as metal, punk, and prog-rock. With so many different styles of rock to choose from, no wonder it is so popular!

Techno is different from most music genres in that it is usually spoken, not sung. The words rhyme like a poem, and fit to the strong beat of the backing music.

Dance music is the kind of music you usually hear in clubs and bars. It has a strong beat, is often repetitive, and is perfect for dancing too. Like rock, there are many different styles of dance music. Some are slow, some are fast, but they will all get your feet moving!

If the music you like doesn’t fit one of these categories, it is probably alternative [ɔːlˈtɜːnətɪv]. Music might be called “alternative” because only a small group of people like it or because it doesn’t fit well into another category.
