Цель: Развивать у учащихся способности и желание участвовать в процессе коммуникации на английском языке.
Задачи:
Воспитательные:
формировать у учащихся уважение и интерес к культуре и народу Великобритании;
формировать потребность в практическом использовании английского языка в социально-культурной сфере;
воспитывать культуру общения.

развивать у учащихся интерес к изучению английского языка;

развивать эмоциональную сферу учащихся и их актёрские способности.

обобщить и расширить знания учащихся о столице Великобритании, обычаях и традициях страны;
расширить общий и лингвистический кругозор учащихся.

развивать у учащихся умения монологической и диалогической речи;
учить учащихся применять грамматическую конструкцию Present Simple
развивать умение выступать публично с подготовленным устным сообщением на заданную тему.

Teacher: Good morning children! How are you? What’s day today?
You know, today our lesson will be unusual .We will not only study, but also we’ll take part in the show. We are going to finish discussing our project “A trip to London”.
1. At the beginning of our lesson we have to repeat some Phonetic pronunciations of some words and translate them.

. London is one of the largest cities in the world. About seven million people live here. London is more than two thousand years old. London’s most famous sights are Tower Bridge, Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament, Trafalgar Square and St. Paul’s Cathedral.

ST 1-- Hello, ladies .We welcome you to London!
ST1 --Now we are at Buckingham Palace. It is the London home of the queen. When the flag is flying on the top she is at home. The ceremony of the Changing of the Guard is a great tourist attraction. It takes place daily at half past twelve in the afternoon and lasts half an hour.
- How many rooms are there in the Palace?
ST 1-- -There are 600 rooms.
- Does the Queen’s family live at the Palace?
ST1 --- They stay at the Palace on weekdays.

ST 2.--There are a lot of parks and gardens in London. In Regent’s park there is London Zoo. We are coming now to Hide Park. It is the largest park in the West End of London. The park has Speaker’s Corner where anyone can make a speech about anything they want. It is a very democratic park.
-How many animals are in Regent’ park?
ST2.---Today there are more than 8000 animals in the Zoo.
ST 3-- Now we are coming to Trafalgar Square. It commemorates Nelson’s victory at the battle of Trafalgar. There is a Nelson’s column in the center of square. It is over 170 feet high. The statue shows Nelson with one hand and one eye. He lost them in the battle. The four bronze lions at the base were added in 1867.
- Excuse me, what do the lions symbolize?
ST 3 - They symbolize four Nelson’s victories.
ST 4-- And now we are making our tour up the Thames to the House of Parliament. It is the seat of British government. There is the Clock Tower and the clock in the House of Parliament. The Clock Tower is 318 feet high. The man in charge of building was Sir Benjamin Hall. The man was very tall and the workers and his friends called him Big Ben. So they called the bell Big Ben too.
ST5---We are coming now to Westminster Abbey. It is a royal church. Here you can see the tombs of many British kings and queens and other famous people. The Abbey was founded in the 11th century.
ST 6---And now we start our tour from Tower Bridge. The road over the bridge is built on two central sections; they open two or three times a week to let ships through. On the right bank of river you can see the Tower of London. It is nine hundred years old. In the early days of history of England the English kings lived here. Then it was a prison and now it is a museum. The walls of the Tower are five meters thick. In the museum you can see many old guns.
ST7---I welcome you to the British Museum. The British Museum has one of the largest libraries in the world. There are more than 6 million books in the library. At present the library has modern electronic equipment, so the reader does not have to wait long to receive the material he needs.
ST 8-- The London Eye is situated on the banks of the River Thames in London, England. It is the tallest wheel in Europe, and the most popular paid tourist attraction in the United Kingdom. A double-decker bus is a bus that has two storeys or decks. Red double-decker buses are used for mass transit in London. Double-decker buses are also used in other cities in Europe and used for touring.
