The theme of the lesson: My working day.

Type of the lesson: Presentation of the new theme;
The aim of the lesson:

          Educational. To consolidate lexical material on the theme;

Developing. To develop pupils’ skills of speaking, monologue speech, writing;

Bringing up. To bring up pupils’ interest in English language using new words and skills to work in groups.

The methods of the lesson: pair work, work with cards, pictures, question-answers, listening; 

       The visual aids of the lesson: an interactive board, pictures,  cards, placards;
       Using Technology: RWCT 

                             Procedure of the lesson

1.Organization moment.
T: Good morning, boys and girls!   Cl: Good morning teacher!

T: Sit down, please. I am glad to see you and hope you are ready for our lesson and you are in good mood. Who is on duty? What date is it today? What is the weather like today? Is it nice or bad?

2. To check up the home task.
-What is your home task for today?
Exercise 14.p92.
3. Warming-up.  Dear friends, let’s recite the poem” My day.

Breakfast in the morning,
Dinner in the day
Tea comes after dinner
Then it’s time to play.

Supper in the evening
When the sky is red.
Then the day is over
And we go to bed.

Teacher:  Do you like to get up early?   When do you go to bed?

 Today the theme of our lesson is ‘ My working day”  and we‘ll speak about our ordinary day, work out the lexical vocabulary, read some texts, do a test. 

  Well, let’s start. Are you ready?

4. Phonetic activities. Read and translate the words on the board 

         to get up at 7 o’ clock

        to do morning exercises

        to make the bed

        to wash hands and the face

        to clean the teeth

        to dress, to get dressed

        to have breakfast (diner, lunch,  

        supper)

        to go to school

        to come home

        to rest

        to do homework

        to help mother, father

        to go out ( to go for a walk)

        to meet /play friends

        to watch TV, read books

       to go to bed

 

5.Listen and Point.T: During our working day we use a watch and a clock to be on time. Now look at the watches and clocks and say:”What’s the time?” Work in pairs

 

6. Talk to your friend.  Let’s look at these pictures and make up the sentences.  

Get up                       22.30.        Have breakfast        6.00.

Go to school             22.00.         Have lunch              2.15.    

Get home                  4.00.          Have dinner            24.30.

 Go to bed                 7.00.          Have supper            18.00.           

7. Phisical exercises
 Are you tired? Let`s have a rest. So, close you eyes and imagine that it is night. You are sleeping… Children, get up, it`s 7 o`clock! It is high time to do our morning exercise

Stand up! Hands on the head,
    Hands on hips,
    Hands on the table,
    Hands like this.

    Hands on the shoulders,
    Hands up and down,
    Hands behind the head
    And sit down!
-Very good of you, thank you!

 8. To read the text “My working day”

       I get up at seven o’clock. Then I clean teeth, wash my hands and face. I have break­fast at half past seven (7.30.). I go to school at a quarter to eight (7.45.). School starts at eight o’clock. I have 6 lessons every day. I have Russian, English, Maths, History, Literature, Music, Art and Physical Education. School finishes at half past one and I go home. I have dinner at two o’clock. After dinner I do my homework. I have supper at seven  o’clock.  In the evening I watch TV, play computer games and help my mother about the house. At 10 o’clock I go to bed and my working day is over.
