1. Вступительное слово учителя.

Dear friends,

It’s always very interesting to travel to other countries, to different cities. It’s very important to learn something new about the traditions and the way of life of other people. It helps us understand them and make friends with them.

Today we are going to go on a sightseeing tour around Disneyland.

• I think that everybody knows this man. His name is Walt Disney.

• To many people in our century his name means the world of cartoons.

• Do you like cartoons?

P1: Yes, I do.

P2: I like very much cartoons.

• What is your favorite cartoon?

P1: My favorite cartoon is Ducks’ story.

P2: I like ___.

• Disney has created a lot of short cartoons and many, many longer films.

• Do you know longer films? Name them.

P1: Donald Duck.

P2: About Mickey Mouse.

• Walter Elias Disney was born on December 5, 1901 in Chicago, Illinois, USA. Please, write this information about Elias Disney.

• Walt Disney Family Museum in San Francisco, California.

• The little Walt Disney drew Mickey Mouse. When he grew up, he began to draw pictures and to create cartoons, and one day he had an idea to make a mouse the main character of the cartoons. [slide 8]

• He told his wife Lillian about this. And Lillian said “That’s a good idea!”

• Then came other characters.

• One day an idea came to Disney. He wanted to create a special place, a special land for children and parents to have fun together.

So he built Disneyland in California near Los Angeles. [slides 22, 23,24]

• Walt Disney died in December, 1966, when he was 66.[slide 26]

• Now we shall see the cartoon into English. [ video]
