I like to listen fairy stories.When I was little, my mother read me fairy tales at night.

I would like to tell you about the famous storyteller. His name is Hans Christian Andersen

Ганс Христиан Андерсен

Hans Christian Andersen was born in the Danish.

In the Kingdom of Denmark the national language is Danish. Most of the Danes are also speaking English.

His dream father was a shoemaker. But he made different fun toys. Poor health, he died when Hans Christian was nine years old.

His mother worked as a laundress. After her husband's death she gave Hans to work on the factory. In 1833 his mother died.

He sang songs for workers and played scenes from Shakespeare. Workmen told: it is necessary, the son of a shoemaker, and knows Shakespeare!

The young Andersen a lot of read and he worked in the theater.

The theater gave him the right to get education in Latin school. There he spent five years and in 1828 passed the exams at the University of Copenhagen.

Andersen soon became a popular writer. It is called the King of fairy tales.

His Fairy Tales « The Tinder Box », « Ole Lukoie », « The Shadow », « The Emperor’s New Clothes»   and other known throughout the world.

My favorite fairy tales are “The Princess and the Pea“, "Thumbelina", "The Wild Swans", "The Little Mermaid" , “The Steadfast Tin Soldier“, “Snow Queen”, “ The Ugly Duckling “ and other.

This is a story about love and betrayal.

The Steadfast Tin Soldier

This is the story about brave soldier who fell in love with a beautiful ballerina.

Andersen collected the collection of the soldiers all his life. It is few of thousand figures.

The Wild Swans

This is a story about a girl who saved the brothers .

Thumbelina

This is a fairy tale about a little girl who became a princess in the country elf.

The Ugly Duckling

This is the story about ugly duck that became a beautiful swan.

The Princess on the Pea.

This is a story about a real princess.

The Snow Queen

This is a story about friendship and love, which can heat the icy heart.

Hans Christian Andersen was born on April 2, 1805 in Odense. Great storyteller died on August 4, 1875.

Memory

• There is Gold Medal Award to the Hans Christian Andersen in the country.

• There are Statues storyteller in New York, Bratislava, Moscow, and Odense.
• There is a puppet theater named Andersen in Lublin. There is a children's play complex Andersen in the Leningrad region.
• There is amusement park in Shanghai.

Andersen's fairy tales have been translated into Russian and many other languages.  

On the birthday of the great storyteller whole world celebrates the International Children's Book Day.
