SUMMER OR WINTER?
Look at these pictures. I would like you to guess the theme of our today’s lesson using them and the poem “Whatever the weather”. And you will help me with the translation of this poem.
How many seasons
do you know?
What are they?
Everyone knows that there are four seasons in a year: spring, summer, winter and autumn. Each of them lasts 3 months.
Whether the weather be fine
Whether the weather be fine,
Or whether the weather be not,
Whether the weather be cold,
Or whether the weather be hot,
We'll weather the weather,
Whatever the weather,
Whether we like it or not.
What is your favourite season? Why do you like it?
Winter
Winter lasts three months. They are December, January and February. It is getting colder day by day. The sun shines rarely and it often snows . But everything looks so pretty covered with snow.
Spring
Spring comes in March and ends in May. It often rains in spring, especially in April.
Summer
Summer is the hottest season in the year. It begins in June and ends in August. In summer the sky is clear and cloudless. The days are long and the nights are short and warm. Summer brings fruits and vegetables. It is pleasant to spend this season by the seaside or somewhere in the country.
Autumn
The autumn months are September, October and November. The days become shorter, the sun loses its force. It often rains. It is the season of harvesting .
