The theme of the lesson: Learning languages

The aims of the lesson:

  1. Focus on speaking about learning languages, summarise the differences or similarities;
  2. Practice in giving short answers with using “So do I”, “Neither do I” sentences structures;
  3. To encourage students to respect each other and foreign languages at the lesson.

The methods of the lesson: team work, individual work, question-answer, find the correct heading, Knowledge rating scale

The type of the lesson: explanation of the new material

Preparations and visual aids:

Cards: flashcards, cards and “Give a respond” individual work cards

The theme of the lesson: Learning languages

The aims of the lesson:

  1. Focus on speaking about learning languages, summarise the differences or similarities;

  2. Practice in giving short answers with using “So do I”, “Neither do I” sentences structures;

  3. To encourage students to respect each other and foreign languages at the lesson.

The procedure of the lesson

  1. Organization moment

  1. Greeting

  • Good morning, students!

  1. Check the attendance of the students

  2. Divide the class into three groups

  1. Check up their homework

  1. Brainstorming questions:

Group #1: In which situation you think the more effective learning is taking place?

Group #2: Which situation you think is more enjoyable for the student involved?

Group #3: If you wanted to improve your spoken English which of the situations would you prefer?

  1. Team work “Reading and speaking”

  1. Read the text with “Popcorn” game

  2. Teacher introduces with the new lesson and divides the task into three groups.

Group # 1: Translate the text;

Group # 2: Retell the text;

Group #3: Prepares questions.

  1. Before the beginning the task they should complete “Knowledge rating scale” and then after they’ve done their work, they should write translations.
