Let us invite you to the magical world of the Brothers Grimm. The German Fairy Tale Route offers culture and history, ancient towns and bewitched castles, fairytale palaces, grottos and museums.

Once upon a time there lived two master storytellers…

Вильгельм Гримм: Good evening dear ladies and gentlemen!

Let me introduce myself. I am Wilhelm Grimm and this is my brother Jakob.

Якоб Гримм: Guten Tag, liebe Freunde!

Herzlich willkommen in die sagenhafte Marchenwelt von Brudern Grimm!

Also, machen wir unsere Reise!

Das ist eine Deutsche Märchenstraße.

Sie verbindet Hanau,Schwalmstadt, Trendelburg, Polle,Bremen.

Das sind wichtigste Orte auf der deutschen Märchenstraße.

Вильгельм Гримм: Welcome to the home of fairies and princes, Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, Little Red Riding Hood and Cinderella.

Якоб Гримм: Let’s start our Route from Hanau to Bremen.

Hanau is our native place. The National memorial to the Brothers Grimm is situated here.

(На экране слайд - город Schwalmstadt)

Вильгельм Гримм: We are in Schwalmstadt where Little Red Riding Hood lived.

Якоб Гримм: Schwalmstadt is known as the capital of the “The Land of Red Riding Hood”. Women loved wearing red caps in this town.

Kartoffelpuffer

Kartoffelpuffers are shallow pan-fried pancakes made from grated or ground potatoes mixed with flour, egg, onion and seasoning. You can enjoy them either salty as a side dish to a main course of meat or fish, or sweet with apple sauce, blueberries, sugar and cinnamon.

Wurst

There are more than 1500 different types of Wurst (sausage) made in Germany and you’ll find street stalls selling them everywhere. The most popular include Bratwurst (fried sausage) made of ground pork and spices, Wiener (Viennese), which is smoked and then boiled, and Blutwurst and Schwarzwurst, which are both blood sausages.

Schnitzel and apple strudel

A schnitzel is a thin, boneless cutlet of meat, which is coated in breadcrumbs and often served with a slice of lemon. You can choose a Wiener Schnitzel (Viennese schnitzel), which is made of veal, or a Schnitzel WienerArt made of pork (Schwein). Apfelstrudel (apple strudel) is a popular dessert of buttery pastry filled with apples flavoured with sugar, cinnamon, raisins and breadcrumbs. It became popular in the 18th century under the Habsburg empire. The delicate flakey pastry is made from an elastic dough, which is kneaded and stretched until it’s almost paper thin.

Якоб Гримм: Many years ago Hameln suffered from the invasion of rats. Rattenfanger has taken away all rats from the town playing his pipe.

Вильгельм Гримм: Let’s visit the bewitched castle Trendelburg.

Якоб Гримм: There lived a beautiful princess Rapunzel. Rapunzel had a beautiful long hair that shone like gold.

(На сцене Ведьма и Рапунцель)

Witch: "Rapunzel, Rapunzel!
Let down your hair!"

Rapunzel: Yes, Mummy.

(На экране слайд - город Polle)

Вильгельм Гримм: Now we are the guests of the pretty, hardworking girl Cinderella. She is from the town Polle.

Якоб Гримм: The Royal Ball was taken place in the palace of this town.

(Звучит музыка, выходят Золушка и Принц, и танцуют)

(На экране слайд - город Bremen)

Вильгельм Гримм: Bremen is a glorious gothic town with medieval streets. It is known for its famous heroes, the Bremen Town Musicians.

Якоб Гримм: The statue of four friends, the Bremen Town Musicians is standing on the square Marktplatz.

Вильгельм Гримм: The city Bremen was included in UNESCO World Heritage Site.

(Выходят герои сказки и поют песню Бременских музыкантов)

Вильгельм Гримм: So the German fairytale route realizes the part of Germany itself: the cute hilltop towns and castles, deep forests and beautiful rivers.

Якоб Гримм: The route is a place where childhood dreams spring into life.

Вильгельм Гримм: Unsere Reise ist zu Ende. Hat es euch gut gefallen? Das ist eine Freude für uns!
