Пояснительная записка
Методическая разработка внеклассного мероприятия “Christmas in Australia” направлена на развитие познавательного интереса студентов.
Основной целью методической разработки является повышение качества знаний студентов путем ознакомления с культурными традициями страны изучаемого языка.
Данная методическая разработка содействует совершенствованию речевых навыков и умений студентов, развивает их творчество, инициативу, самостоятельность, способствует расширению кругозора, повышает культурный уровень.
Внеклассное мероприятие
Тема: ChristmasinAustralia
Цели:
- образовательные: формирование лингвострановедческой компетенции студентов путем ознакомления с культурными традициями страны изучаемого языка
- развивающие: развитие языковых способностей студентов, готовности к коммуникации; развитие творческих способностей
- воспитательные: создание условий для формирования у студентов интереса к культуре и традициям страны изучаемого языка, поддержание интереса к культуре страны.
Межпредметные связи: английский язык, страноведение, история, география
Dear friends! It is a great to welcome you here. I want to ask you. Do you like holidays? Do you like to have a rest and get presents? To my mind, it goes without saying. And there is no man on the Earth who doesn’t like holidays.
And I think that the most beautiful, the funniest, the happiest holiday is Christmas.
And today we want to invite you to Christmas in Australia. ( звучит музыка Бони М «Christmas Medley») We invite all of you to take part in our holiday. Put on these masks and caps and be the participants of our party.

Most Australians have been dreaming of a white Christmas for centuries. But the traditional European Christmas is just a myth for Australians. Santas wearing thick woolen clothes don’t fit with Australia’s thirty- degree heat. Furthermore the most inhabitants haven’t seen snowflakes at all.
Look at the screen and let’s sing together.

Преподаватель: We say «traditional Christmas» and we imagine snow, snowflakes, Christmas songs, different winter entertainment. Of course, it’s European Christmas.
And know let’s watch the film about the traditional Christmas in Australia.

Thankfully things are changing fast .Now Australians have their own Christmas, Australian style.
Christmas in Australia happens in summer. However they tried their best to deny the reality of summer Christmas. In the classroom children learn songs like “Frosty the snowman “ and “Jingle Bells”.

Up until recently only Christmas cards published portrayed white winter. The first Christmas postcard was made by Sir Henry Coal in England in 1843. In Australia the first Christmas postcards appeared 40 years later than in Great Britain and it was made by John Sunds in 1881.

It’s rare to find a flake of snow on Christmas cards these days. Now the publishers print Christmas cards with native Australian animals and landscape scenes of Australian bush.

During the Christmas all relatives meet together to wish each other Merry Christmas and have a Christmas dinner. They help themselves with different fruits and salads. And as a rule there is a turkey in the middle of the table. Преподаватель: It is interesting to know that Australians can’t imagine their dinner without “Pavlova”. Can you guess what it means? Have you got any ideas? And now? This is our famous , ballet- dancer Anna Pavlova. She was in Australia on tour. Her performances had such a great success that the Australians devoted these dessert to Anna Pavlova because she is so pretty and delightfull.

Since the middle of October Australia is decorated by Christmas trees. And the first Christmas parades are held in November. The symbol of the coming year is the astrological animal sign. 2013 is the year of a snake.

The official opening of Christmas is a parade in Adlaide. It became a kind tradition and one of the sightseeing of the capital of the State South Australia.

Преподаватель: The Australians have their own tradition “Carols by Candlelight” (Рождественское пение при свечах). It appeared in the 19 century and became very popular since 1938. Now these idea spread all over the world. (Участники карнавала раздают гостям свечи) Light the candles and meet the Christmas.
