Ход мероприятия.
Pupil 1: Hello, everybody!
Pupil 2: Welcome to our school party! Today we are going to speak about the world around us.
Pupil 1: The planet we live on is the Earth. The Earth is round. If you look at the Earth from the space you will be able to see land, seas, oceans, continents and even countries. Sometimes you can see them through clouds. They look very beautiful when the sun rises or sets.
Pupil 2: There are four oceans and six continents. The continents are very large. Oceans and seas wash them and separate them from each other. There are usually many countries on the continents. For example, there are more than 40 countries in Africa, but there is only one country in Australia.
Pupil1: The largest country in the world is Russia. The smallest country is the Vatican. All the countries have interesting people, places, animals and plants.
Pupil 2: People of different nationalities live in these countries. They speak different languages. Each country has its national flag, anthem and its own traditions and customs.
Pupil 1: It’s interesting to learn about new things: about different countries and people, their history and their traditions, about living creatures, about plants and trees around us.
Pupil 3: How pleasant to sit on the beach,
With oceans galore within rich,
And nothing at all to be done!
No letters to be answer,
No bills to be burned,
No work to be shirked,
No cash to be earned.
It is pleasant to sit on the beach
With nothing at all to be done.
How pleasant to look at the ocean,
It fills me with noble emotion
To think that I am able to swim in it,
To lave in the wave.
It is pleasant to look at the ocean;
Tomorrow, perhaps, I shall swim in it.
Pupil 4: For thousands of years people lived in harmony with environment. But the industrial progress gave birth to very serious problems - the problems of environment. People think of the environment as an unlimited source of resources. We cut down our forests. We make lakes and rivers too dirty for fish to live in or for people to swim in. We make so much smoke that it is hard for us to breathe. We put so much poison that many animals die.
Pupil 5: The Earth is our home. We must take care of it, for ourselves and for the next generations. There is much that we can do.
1. What can we do to keep our environment clean?
2. Why must people plant new trees?
3. What can be done with unnecessary things?
4. Is it necessary to pick up litter and why?
5. What is the main aim of a man living on our planet?
Pupil 4: For a long time people didn’t think of the future of the Earth. Children and grown-ups must learn to take care of it.
