Нестандартные формы  проведение уроков привлекают внимание учащихся, повышают интерес к изучаемому предмету,способствуют обогощению новой информацией о стране изучаемого языка,и как следствиее помогают лучше усвоить тему урока.Предлагаю разработку урока страноведческого плана,которая поможет расширить знания учащихся о странах изучаемого языка.Данная разработка может использоваться как на первом этапе знакомства с достопримечательностями Лондона,так и в качестве закрепления полученной информации.Я думаю, данный материал будет полезен не только для учащихся 8- классов,но и для детей более младшего возраста.

с достопримечательностями Лондона и

англо - говорящими странами.

Тема урока: “Would you like to go to Britain?”


Подтема: “London is the capital of Great Britain.”


Цели урока:

1)Познавательный аспект: Знакомство с достопримечательностями Лондона, увеличение объёма знаний об изучаемой стране.

2) Воспитательный аспект: воспитание уважительного отношения к культуре другой страны.

3)Учебный аспект: формирование лексических навыков, развитие умения высказываться по заданной теме.


Задачи урока:

1) Вовлечь детей в общение на английском языке, используя полученные знания по теме.

2)Проконтролировать усвоение материала, используя различные упражнения


Оснащение урока: карта Великобритании, проектор, презентация по теме «Лондон» в Microsoft PowerPoint, тесты в Excel.

Let’s start our lesson!

Let’s take a sightseeing tour round London. I think you’ll find something interesting and new for yourselves. And it’s very difficult to see all the places of interest. The words of a very famous person in Britain are the motto of our lesson: «When a man is tired of London ,he is tired of life”

What can you say about it?

[r]- underground, British, travel, Britain, different.

[w]- wait, waiting, will, will not, what, when, Wales.

[d]- do, did, don’t.


Today we’ll listen and speak about Great Britain and London to know as possible during the lesson. That’s our aim.

Look at the map. There you can see Great Britain which consists of four parts: Scotland, England, Wales and the small part of the country Northern Ireland .All parts have their capital. Answer my question now.

What is the capital of England? Wales? Scotland?

P1Look we are near the Buckingham Palace. It is the London home of the Queen. Look, the flag is flying on the top, it means, the Queen is at home.

P2 How many rooms are there in the Palace?

P1There are 600 rooms here.

P2Does the Queen’s family also live at the Palace?

P1The Queen and Prince Philip stay at the Palace on weekdays. Oh look it’s begins a ceremony of the Changing of the Guard. It takes place daily at 11:30a.m. and lasts half an hour.

P2 I know, that to the sounds of music the guardsmen in their traditional bearskin arrive and give the palace to another group.

P1 It’s correct. Now, we must hurry, the ceremony begins.

The Tower of London is a very old building. It is nine hundred years old. In the early days of the history of England the English kings lived here. Then it was a prison where many people died. Black ravens had much food near the walls of the Tower in those years. Black ravens live outside the Tower now. The Tower of London is a museum now. The walls of the Tower are five meters thick. In the museum you can see many old guns. At ten o’ clock every evening the guards lock the big doors of the Tower for the night .

Trafalgar Square It is in the centre of the  West End of London. Trafalgar  Square commemorates Nelson’s victory at the battle of Trafalgar in which he was fatally wounded. Trafalgar Square was designed between 1829 and 1840 with Nelson’s Column as a centerpiece.  The column is over 170 feet height with the statue of Nelson. Nelson’ s Statue is over 16 feet high about three times his real high. The statue shows Nelson with  one arm and eye. He lost them in the battle Today it is a place where people meet, and it is famous for political demonstration .

Trafalgar Square

Big Ben The Clock Tower, which is called Big Ben is known for it's clock. It's one of the finest time –keepers in the world. The Clock has four faces and a very big loud bell. The bell weighs13Tons. The Clock Tower is 318 feet high. The man in charge of building was Sir Benjamin Hall.
