Урок по теме «Флора и фауна Австралии»


Задачи урока:

1. Ввести учащихся в языковую атмосферу.

2. Учить воспринимать на слух текст и решать коммуникативные задачи на

основе прослушанного.

3. Учить находить в тексте главную мысль, ответы на поставленные вопросы.

4. Практиковать в устной речи на базе прочитанного.

5. Учить обсуждать проблемы в парной и коллективной работе.

6. Расширить представление учащихся о животном мире Австралии

7. Воспитывать у учащихся внимательное отношение к животным.

Оснащение урока:

компьютер, мультимедийный проектор, магнитофон, дидактический материал (текст “ The strange world of Australian animals”, тест “Multiple choice test on Australian fauna”)

Ход урока.

1.Организационный момент.

Good morning, my dear friends! I am glad to see you at our English lesson. We have talked a lot about the Commonwealth of Australia. We have spoken about the political systems in this country, about big cities, about the population. At this lesson we’ll speak about fauna of the continent of Australia.

5. Беседа о животном мире Австралии.

The land of strange birds and beasts Australia is separated from many countries. Today we’ll speak about fauna of this continent. The animals in Australia have a lot of original, and they are interesting. Do you agree with me?

Учащиеся рассказывают об известных животных Австралии, показывают свои рисунки, делают сообщения.

Our country’s fauna is extremely rich, numbering great amounts of various mammal species, species of birds. But today animals of the whole world disappear. We know that polluted air, land and water are harmful to animals. People don’t realize how much animals suffer. The truth is that we use animals or part of animals for jewellery, clothes, shampoos, soaps and cosmetics. We all children and grown ups must take care of animals. The people all over the world do everything to protect their nature.

6. Релаксация.

Let’s have a relaxation. Sit comfortably and close your eyes, please. Imagine that you are in a forest. It is summer. It is a lovely day. The weather is wonderful. It is warm. The sun is shining brightly. The warm wind is blowing. The sky is blue and cloudless. Everywhere you can see flowers. They are red, blue, and yellow, white. Trees are green. The ground is covered with green grass. The birds are signing. You are enjoying this lovely day. You are very happy.

7. Работа в группах.

Каждая группа получает текст “ The strange world of Australian animals”. (см.Приложение2)

Первая группа составляет вопросы к тексту.

Вторая группа- диалог.

Третья группа - полилог.

Четвертая группа готовит пересказ текста.

Sidney

Sydney, the capital of New South Wales, lies on three bays: Port Jackson, Botany Bay, Port Hacking Bay. It is not only the biggest city in Australia-it was founded in 1788 as a British colony for prisoners. Expansion increased rapidly during the second half of the 19th century as more and more settlers arrived looking for gold.

Sidney’s attractions

Sidney is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Its art galleries, parks, beaches, super shops, spectacular harbour, fantastic weather (over 340 sunny days per year), and friendly atmosphere all make Sidney truly unforgettable. If you are interested in culture of Australia’s indigenous people you can visit the Australian Museum. For those he like lying in the sun there is Bondi Beach- the most famous Australian beach, which is always packed with both tourists and the local inhabitants.

Darling Harbuor and the Opera House

There are two places in Sidney which are must during any sightseeing tour: Darling Harbuor and the Opera House. Darling Harbour is only a few minutes from the city centre and is the main tourist attraction. It is a place for everyone, full of parks, cafes and shops, where you can also visit the Sidney Aquarium and the Australian National Maritime Museum.

The Sidney opera house, on the other hand, is a real symbol of the city, which appears on the most postcards and photographs taken here.[1]

The Strange World of Australian Animals

Australia has been called ‘the land of differences’ and ‘the continent of contrasts’. It certainly is both. There are many was in which it is different from other countries.

The first thing most people think of are the strange native animals. Early in the world’s history Australia was separated from the other continents and her animals developed differently. Of these, the strangest of all are the water loving platypus and the echidna. The appearance of the platypus is so unusual that when the skin of one was first sent to England some scientists said that no such animal could possibly exist. Australia is also the home of the kangaroos.

The koala is a tree-living comical –looking animal that lives on the leaves of eucalyptus trees. It will nothing more. It usually sleeps during the day.

The dingo, or wild dog, is the only killer among the native animals. You can meet dingoes in many parts of Australia, but most of them now live in mountains or hills. In some places they were a very great danger to sheep and many of them were killed for that reason.

The native birds of Australia are very interesting. The emu, for example, which, with the kangaroo, is represented on the Australian coat-of-arms, is the next- tallest birds in the world after the ostrich.[2, стр. 84]
