Good morning, students! Glad to see you! How are you? Hope, you are fine. Who is on duty today? Who is absent? What day is it today? What date is it today? What’s the weather like today? What was your home task? Before I tell you what we are going to do at our today’s lesson I’d like you to look at the blackboard and watch a video. After watching the video try to guess the theme of our lesson. These words will help you understand the sense. Look at the blackboard and repeat after me. Mind your pronunciation.

Now watch the video. Answer the questions: What is the video about? What animals are familiar to you? So, what is the theme of our lesson? Thank you! The theme of our lesson is “There is no place like home”. Today you are going to do some grammar exercises, brush up your vocabulary on the topic discussed, listen to a text, write, speak and do many reading exercises. You’ll mostly read a lot. How do you think what is the main aim of our lesson? Yes, the aim of our lesson is to train your reading skills. So, be attentive and try to do your best.

To speak on the topic well we need to brush up your pronunciation and vocabulary. Let’s do the first exercise to train your pronunciation skills. You’re your books on page 79. Ex.1a.What sounds do you see?

Repeat after me. Mind your pronunciation. To train your pronunciation skills I’d like you to do some more exercises. Open your books on page 79.Ex.1b,1c.

To train your lexical skills I suggest you doing the following exercise: you are given a list of words. The words are written in three columns. I’ll read you the words and your task is to mark the words in order I name them. So, take your cards and pens ,listen and mark.

Crow goose moose

Let’s check the words and the numbers. Which words can be rhymed?

3.It’s time to check your homework. Befoe we do it I’d like you to brush up the irregular verbs. Name as many irregular verbs as you can. Thank you. Let’s check your homework/Open your exercise –books.Ex.2 page 78.

4.Ive already told you that you are going to do a lot of reading today.Before reading the text ding some exercises will help you understand the text better and train your speaking skills. So, open your books on page 79 and do exercises 2a, 2b. 5. Now I suggest you listening to a text. Before listening to the text look at the blackboard and repeat the words after me. Mind your pronunciation.

6.To improve your reading skills we are going to read this text .Before reading it look at the blackboard and brush up the irregular verbs:

Open your books on page 79. Ex 2c.Read the text. Translate.

6.Warming-up.It’s time to have a rest and move a bit. Listen and do.

7.To check your comprehension of the text let’s do some exercises.

I.Read the following sentences. Choose those sentences which indicate the theme of the text:

1.Feeling lonely.

2.You feel at home if you are with your friend.

3.Nature and farms.

4.Weather.

II. Say which animals are mentioned in the text.Do ex.2d.p.82

III. Find in the text the sentences with the irregular vebs and read them aloud.

IV. Do shared reading. Perform at the Reader’s Theatre.Ex.3.p.82

V. Write 2–3 words from the text for each secret (ex.1) Ex.4 p.82

V. Put the following questions in logical order according to the text and answer them:

a)Where was his owner ? b)Why was Jack sad ? c)What was no fun for Jack? d)What is the name of his owner? e)What game did Toby and Jack play? f)What did Jack want? g)Where did he run? h)Who came out of the barn? i)Whom did he see in the field? j)Did he see a chicken? k) What was fun for the horses ? l)Why did he dig? m)Did Jack like corn? n)Where did he find some food?

8.This time you are going to work in pairs.Make up a dialogue on the part of Toby and Jack and role-play it.

9.To brush up your grammar we’ll do the following exercise. Divide into groups. You are given cards with a written story. Your task is to correct the mistakes.Card: Jack were sad.He want to play.He seed a cat.The horse don’t like corn.Toby and Jack plays ball.

11.Our lesson is coming to its end.Let’s draw a conclusion. What did we learn at the lesson?
Do you agree that there is no place like home? What have we done at the lesson? What did you like best of all? What didn’t you like about the lesson? Have we achieved our aim of the lesson? Did you like your work at the lesson? Estimate your work. You are given some sheets of paper Put your mark into the column which is about you.
