St. Basil's Cathedral is one of the most outstanding monuments of Old Russian architecture. It was built on the order of Ivan the Terrible to commemorate the capture of Kazan and Astrakhan. It was the tallest building in Moscow until the completion of the Ivan the Great Bell Tower in 1600. P1 – And now in front of you can see Ostankino Tower Is the tallest tower in Europe and the 4th tallest building in the world. It was built in Moscow in 1967. Besides technical services, there is a sightseeing platform and a three-level restaurant «The Seventh Sky». The Bolshoi Theatre was built in 1824. It was the second biggest theatre in the world. The Bolshoi Ballet and Bolshoi Opera are among the oldest and most renowned ballet and opera companies in the world. It was the first monument to the poet in Russia. Summer gardens In 1704 The Summer Gardens was laid after the idea of Peter I. There were some fountains, sculptures, rare trees and flowers at his “paradise”. . We have got many theatres, art galleries, museums in the city. St Petersburg has over 100 working museums. They are The Hermitage, The State Russian Museum, the Kunstkamera, and many others. I can recommend the State Hermitage is one of greatest museums in the world. It consists of five historical buildings, including Winter Palace – the residence of Russian tsars. There are about 3 million monuments of culture and art of the European and Oriental peoples. St. Petersburg is famous for its cathedrals and churches. It overlooks Nevsky Avenue with its Northern facade. P – We have got many playgrounds and they are fantastic. There are a lot of attractions there. I love my city Its streets are clean and pretty.
