ТЕМА УРОКА “HOME, SWEET HOME”
Цели урока: - развивать навыки устной речи по теме урока;
- ознакомить учащихся с английскими пословицами и поговорками о
доме;
- развивать память, внимание и речевую догадку;
- расширять кругозор учащихся.
Оборудование урока: ноутбук, экран.

1. Teacher: “Home, sweet home” is an English proverb. Read other English proverbs
about our home. Can you find Russian equivalents to them?

2.Teacher: Why do we name our home “sweet”? Begin your answers with the
words My home is sweet because…
Possible answers: …I love my home;
…it is warm and cosy;
…I have many toys and like playing with them;
…I love my parents and they love me, etc.
3. Teacher: Now let`s revise our rhyme “Houses”
Pupils: Some people live in the country,
Where houses are very small,
Some people live in the city,
Where houses are very tall.
But in the country where the houses are small,
The gardens are very big.
And in the city where the houses are tall,
There are no gardens at all.
4. Teacher: When you hear the word “home”, you think about a lot of things. Brainstorm
the idea of home. What is your home? Begin your answers with: My home is…
Possible answers: …my mum and dad,
…evenings with my parents in front of the TV set,
… talks about life and my problems,
…Sunday dinner,
…Christmas evening with delicious dishes,
…my birthday with friends and relatives,
… books I like reading,
…music I`m fond of,
…a funny pet,
…a loyal dog,
…a comfortable chair where I can read or watch TV,
…a cosy kitchen with a kettle and cups, etc.
5. Teacher: We live in different houses and flats but we like our home best of all.
Brainstorm the rooms in your flat ( a living-room, a kitchen, a dining-room,
a bathroom, a bedroom, a toilet, a hall, a children`s room, a corridor,
a balcony). Guess what room it is (there are pictures on the screen).
1. We like it because we spend most of time there sharing news, problems, having a cup of tea with a cake or biscuits.
2. This is the room where you mustn`t shout. It is the quietest room in the flat. Sweet dreams live here.
3. You celebrate birthday parties, holidays in it, you play music and dance in it during celebrations.
4. You become clean after visiting this room.
5. This is the first room you see when you come home or to your friends.
6. If you want to breathe in some fresh air, you can stay some time in it.
7. Your younger brothers or sisters live in it. It is full of toys and books.
8. You can`t do without this room, though some children laugh when they hear about it.
