Jack’s trip!

Nicolas: Hello, Jack! My name is Nicolas. I’m a journalist. I’m very glad to see you in our studio. I know that you’ve already visited a score or two countries and you’ve recently been to Scotland, haven’t you?

Jack: Hello! I’m very glad to see you too. Yes, I have. I’ve visited Scotland the first time and this trip was unforgettable.

Nicolas: Have you been there alone or with your family or may be friends?

Jack: I never travel alone. I’ve been there with my best friends.

Nicolas: Why did you decide to go just Scotland?

Jack: I heard that in Edinburgh there is the great Festival of Music and Drama. I’m a musician, so I’ve chosen this country. And I’ve seen everything with my own eyes.

Nicolas: Tell us about this Festival, please.

Jack: I’ve heard the magical sounds of the bagpipe – it’s amazing!!! Thousands of musicians, singers, bands and dancers took place in the Grand Parade. Every participant was in the national costume. I’ll never forget this performance!

Welcome to Great Britain!

The UK consists of four countries – England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. The capital of these parts are London, Cardiff, Edinburgh and Belfast. There are lots of words, connecting with the Great Britain in general. These are – the Royal family, a foggy island, old castles, red buses, football and tea.

Tea is the favorite British drink. All people in Britain have got their own habits, traditions and symbols.

The main symbol of the UK is the Queen. She is the only person in Britain with two birthdays. It is a real country with its own geography, economy, culture, political system and, of course, nature.

Nature is very beautiful and fascinating. The climate is rather cool and changeable. There are lots of parks, gardens in Great Britain.

Great Britain’s official language is English. It is the first language of international communication. If you are going to visit Great Britain – you’re a very happy person!

I. Начало урока (2 min.)

1.Организационный момент

- Good morning, children and our guests. Sit down, please. Today our English lesson is a little unusual. We have some guests in our class. I` m very glad to see you.

2. Беседа с классом о настроении, погоде, дежурстве в классе

- It’s a nice day today, isn’t it? – Yes, it is.

- How are you? – I am fine, thank you.

- Who is on duty today? – I am on duty today.

- What date is it today? -  Today is the 24-th of November.

- What is the weather today? - The weather is good. It is snowy and cold.

How did you spend your spring holidays?

What do you prefer to eat for breakfast?

Have you ever been on the exhibition of flowers?

II. Речевая зарядка (1 min.)

- And now , Oleg, ask this question to Nastya. Look at the screen and use these words (Слайд 1)

III. Фонетическая зарядка (работа с карточками на доске) (3 min.)

- Look at the blackboard, please. You can see some words and some transcriptions to them.

The task: read the word and find the right transcription to it; translate the words into Russian.

IV. Постановка темы, целей урока(8 min.)
