Тема урока: “At the doctor’s”.

Цель урока: систематизировать и обобщить знания учащихся по теме «Health and Body Care».

Задачи урока:

Образовательные:

- обобщение лексического материала по теме «Health»,

- обобщение грамматического материала (модальный глагол «should»),

- развитие навыков говорения, аудирования (просмотр видео), чтения и письма по теме.

Развивающие:

- развитие коммуникативных навыков по теме «Health and Body Care»,

- развитие творческих способностей учащихся,

- развитие памяти, внимания и мышления,

- развитие умения обобщать и делать выводы.

Воспитательные:

- воспитание здоровых привычек и культуры здорового образа жизни,

- воспитание умения работать в сотрудничестве.

Оборудование: компьютер, мультимедийный проектор, аудиозапись, магнитофон, раздаточный материал (карточки с кроссвордом, карточки «Health Code», «A Magic Flower”).

Ход урока

I.       Организационный момент и речевая разминка

  • Good morning, girls and boys! (Good morning, teacher!)
  • Glad to see you. (We 're glad to see you, too.)
  • How are you all today? (We are fine, thank you. How are you?)
  • I'm fine, thanks. How's the weather today? (It is a bit cold and sunny.)

Сообщение целей урока

First I'm going to listen to your stories to illustrate the proverb. Then we are going to read and discuss the dialogue "At the Doctor's". Near the end of the lesson I'll test you on the spelling the new words.

Today our lesson is devoted to a very important problem. As you know some people are healthy, some people are unhealthy. Health is the most precious things in people’s life. We can’t buy health, but we can do a lot to keep it. In order to be healthy we should follow some special rules. The series of pictures on the screen will help you to guess what we are going to speak about.

Right you are. So today we are going to speak about our health, about what we should do to be healthy and about doctors, because they help us to be healthy.

  • Do you remember the proverb you learnt yesterday? Say it together. (Good health is above wealth.) Well done.  (Учащиеся рассказывают свои ситуации, связанные с данной пословицей)
  1. Фонетическая зарядка.

T. But at first we should revise some words on our topic.

T. Look at the screen, please. I will read these words and then you will repeat them altogether.

A medicine                                      A diet

Pulse                                                To cough

  • There are some words on the blackboard and your task is to find the pair for each word to make the right word combinations. Who wants to come up to the blackboard to do this task?

  1. Тренировка навыков устной речи по теме.
  • Do you want to keep fit? To keep fit means to be strong and healthy. If you want to keep fit you should follow some rules. Let's read good rules on p. 199 (p. 207), ex. 19. Lera, read the first rule aloud, please.

Ученик читает первое правило вслух, после чего учитель задает вопросы:

  • When do you usually get up?
  • Is it difficult for you to get up early? Why?
  • When do you go to bed?
  • Why don't you go to bed early?
  • Do your parents get up (go to bed) early?

Ученики читают остальные правила по очереди. После каждого прочте­ния учитель задает вопросы учащимся. После второго прочтения:

  • Are you fond of sports?
  • Do you take regular exercises?
  • Do you do morning exercises regularly?
  • После третьего прочтения:
  • Do you like to take a shower?
  • When do you usually take a shower?
  • Do you (your parents) take a cool (cold) shower?
  • После четвертого прочтения:
  • What food is healthy?
  • What food do you prefer?
  • Do you (your parents) keep a diet?
  • После пятого прочтения:
  • Have you ever smoked?
  • Do your friends (relatives) smoke? Do you like it?
  • Why do some children begin to smoke?
  • После шестого прочтения:
  • Do you clean teeth regularly?
  • How often do you clean teeth?

4. Тренировка в употреблении глагола should.

Now children, let’s discuss what you should do to be healthy and what shouldn’t you do. (Выполнение упр. 1 с. 190)

  1. Активизация лексики по теме "At the Doctor's"
  • Do you often visit a doctor? Most people don't like it, do they? Open your books at p. 200 (p. 208). Read the article "The British Ways of Life" and say which of them - the doctor or the patient - was silly. Pay attention to the footnotes.
  1. Тренировка навыков диалогической речи
  • Now let's play the game "At the Doctor's". Open your books at p. 204 (p. 212), ex. 5. You will work in pairs. One of you will be a doctor and your partner will be a patient. Complete the dialogue and role play it. (Учащиеся разыгрывают диалоги)

VI.Физкультминутка

T. Are you tired?  To have a rest is also one of the rules of keeping fit.  Let’s have a rest and sing a song «Head and shoulders».

VII. Проведение игры Jumbled proverbs about health.

Now children you must find the Russian equivalents for these English proverbs.

      1. Good health is above wealth.                   Здоровье дороже богатства.           

      2. An apple a day keeps a doctor away.       Кушай по яблоку в   день, и 

                                                                             доктор не  понадобится.

   3. Early to bed and early to rise makes a man       Кто рано ложится и рано встает,  

      healthy, wealthy and wise.                                     здоровье, богатство и ум наживет.

4. A sound mind in a sound body.                            В здоровом теле – здоровый дух.

VIII. Тренировка техники чтения вслух.

Read the poem to each other.

Ученики читают стихотворение друг другу в парах, затем несколько учеников читают его выразительно вслух.

  • Whose reading was the best?

Ученики говорят, кто, по их мнению, прочитал стихотворение лучше всех.

IX Просмотр видеофрагмента.

T. I hope you understand that it is important to follow these simple rules to keep fit. But sometimes people can fall ill. What should they do in this case? Let’s watch a video fragment about people who have some problems with their health. Then you will tell me what they complain of and what they should do to recover.  (Выполнение упр.25)

X. Итоги  урока. Домашнее задание.

Our lesson has come to an end. It was our last lesson on the topic “Health and Body Care”. I see that you know much about the main rules of keeping fit. And I hope that you will continue to take care of your health in everyday life in future.  Thank you for your work. You were very active today and  deserve excellent marks!
