Raushan: The Houses of Parliament is a very large building which stands near the Thames. There are two tall towers at the corners of the building and one of them is the Clock Tower. The English people built the tower and the clock in 1858. The clock has four faces and a very big loud bell. The bell weights 13 tons. The man in charge of the building was Sir Benjamin Hall. This man was very tall, and the workers and his friends called him Big Ben. So they called the bell Big Ben too. Sometimes people call the clock and the Clock Tower Big Ben.
Ainamkoz: The 105m high Baiterek Tower has become the city’s symbol and landmark with a 97m-high observation deck providing a bird’s eye view of the city. The figure of 97 symboliizes the year the capital of was moved from Almaty to Astana. Baiterek is situated on the city square on the left bank of Ishym River. The Baiterek Tower hosts an art gallery6 a large aquarium and a restaurant. Also, there is “Ayaly - Alakan”, the hand impression belonging to the President of Kazakhsnan N. Nazarbayev, the symbol of Kazakh people’s careful attitude toward peace on our planet.

T: Dear boys and girls, today we’ll revise the materials on the themes “Great Britain” and “Kazakhstan” and I’ll check your knowledge on the themes. The aim of our lesson is to generalize your knowledge about two countries.

P1. The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland is situated in the north – west coast of Europe between the Atlantic Ocean on the north and north – west and the north – west and North Sea on the east. The United Kingdom /UK/ consists of four parts. They are: England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. The UK lies on the British Isles. There are some 5500 islands. The two of them are the main islands. They are: Great Britain and Ireland
P2: The area of the UK is some 244100 square kilometers. The population of Great Britain is over 61 million. Great Britain is a constitutional monarchy. The head of Great Britain is Queen Elizabeth II.
P3: Great Britain is not rich in natural resources. Coal and oil are the most of them. British people grow wheat, fruit, vegetables, oats.
P4: Great Britain is well known in the world as a nature – loving country. Its people care about the flora and faunae of the British Isles. There are many rivers and lakes in Great Britain. The Severn is the largest river, the Thames is the most important one.
P5: The largest cities of Great Britain besides London are: Birmingham, Glasgow, Liverpool, Manchester, Bristol, Leeds, Edinburgh. The geographical position of Great Britain gives it mild climate. The Gulf Stream influences the English climate greatly. It is not too hot in summer or too cold in winter. It often rains in England.
P6: The Republic of Kazakhstan is situated in the Central Asia. The area of Kazakhstan is 2753000 square kilometers. It’s population is about 16 million . The population lives mostly in towns and cities and large village. The Republic of Kazakhstan is a state with a presidential form of government.
P7: The President of Kazakhstan is Nursultan Nazarbayev. The largest cities are Almaty, Karaganda, Shymkent, Pavlodar and Astana. Astana is the capital of the Republic. Astana is situated in the central part of the country.
P8: There are many rivers and lakes in Kazakhstan. The four rivers are the main resources of water in the country. They are: Irtish, Syrdarya, Illi, Ural. The largest lakes are Balkhash, Zaisan, Alakol and Tengis
Kazakhstan has well – developed heavy industry in many cities and towns.
The climate of the country is strongly continental. It is cold in winter and hot in summer.
Rain usually falls in spring and autumn. Snow falls in all areas but not at the same time.

Nurgul: My name is Nurgul, my surname is Khairova . I’m a pupil in the 9th form. I like English. It is interesting for me to talk my friends in English. I want to get more information about Great Britain. My dream is to visit Great Britain. I would like to see the Tower of London, Big Ben. London Bridge, the British Museum. I want to meet with the head of the state Elizabeth II. In the future I want to get a good education in Britain and to come back to my country and to work as a good specialist.
Diana: My name is Diana, my surname is Baikenova. I’m a pupil in the 9th form. I live in Kazakhstan. Kazakhstan is the largest state in the Central Asia. My country is one of the biggest countries in the world. The capital of Kazakhstan is Astana. Kazakh is the official language of the country, but it is not the only language which people speak in the country. Russian and other languages are spoken here too. My country is rich in natural recourses. My country has its own national flag and anthem and national traditions and holidays. I am proud of my country.
The next stage of our program is the show of talents. Our pupils prepared their Kazakh and English poems.
