The theme:Sport in our life
Aims: educational: to give information about sport stars of Great
Britain and Kazakhstan,
to form skills in monologue and dialogue
speech,
to enrich the pupils’ vocabulary on the given
theme.
developing: to develop pupils’ abilities in speaking through
group work.
The methods of the lesson: group work, pair work, question - answer
The visual aids: the cards, an interactive board, pictures.

The procedure of the lesson.
I. Greetings. Introduce yourself. /Ойқозғау/
- Good morning children. I am glad to see you. I have a flower – daisy – in my hand. You will tear off one of the petals, there is a question on it, read it and answer the question.

Where are you from?
What date is it today?
What season is it now?
What day of the week today?
What month is it now?
Do you like English?
Do you like Akzhaik secondary school?
Which class are you in?
What is the weather like today?
What is your favorite sport?
What kinds of sport are the most popular among your classmates?

As you see we are going to have an interesting lesson today. We shall talk about sportstars, ask and answer questions. I hope you will get good marks at the end of the lesson. Good luck to you
The theme of our lesson is “Sport in our life”.

Group A: Steffi Graf
Steffi Graf, a famous tennis player, was born in Germany in 1969. After turning professional at the age of 13, she won her first major tournament in 1986 and became the world’s number 1 a year later. In 1988 she became the first woman since 1970 to win “the Grand Slam” (Wimbeldon, the US, Australian and French Open Tournaments). She has won over 100 titles in her career and earned up to 20 million dollars. She remained the world’s number 1 throughout 1996 and 1997.
Group B: Todd Marinovich
Todd Marinovich is an American football star. In childhood when all his friends were eating hamburgers, hot dogs and chocolate and drinking Coke, Todd Marinovich was not. He had never drunk or eaten such things since he was born. When Todd was born, his father decided to create a football star and he was strict about his career.
Group C: IliyaIliyn
Iliya Iliyin is a Kazakh weight-lifter star. He was born in 1988 in Kyzylorda. His mother and father are actors. They wanted their son to be a sport star. He won his first prize in Semei when he was 13.
He was in tournaments in Semei, Qatar – Doha, China, Beijing, Paris and the last Olympic Games in London he became twice Olympic champion. He lifted 418 kg there.
Group D: The first Olympic games
The first Olympic Games took place in Greece more than two thousand and seven hundred years ago. According to the legend Hercules was the founder of the first Olympic games were held in Athens in 1896. Since then the games have been regularly held in different countries of the world.
The capitals of many countries have been Olympic cities – Athens, London, Berlin, Helsinki, Rome, Tokyo, Mexico, Montreal and some others.
