  1. Checking up the home task


To prepare a short performance using the modal verb “should”, “shouldn’t” and “Should …?”.


The teacher discusses the sentences with the usage of the modal verb “should” with the pupils asking them translate these examples.



Pupils perform their home task in two groups.



Pupils in each group read their examples and try to translate into their native language.

Pupils choose one of the cards in chain and remember the third form of the verbs.



If one cannot answer others will raise their hands and give right answer.



Having found all the verbs, pupils will write down them on their copybooks.

Before learning the new theme, they remember The Present Continuous and The Past Continuous tenses. They help to the teacher with their formulas and the meaning.



The learners listen to the teacher carefully trying to understand the new grammatical theme.



If they don’t understand the theme, they will answer any questions to the teacher.





  1. Drill exercises


Task 1: The Present or the Past Continuous Passive.

  1. The trees are being planted by them in the garden.

  2. The letters were being typed by secretary.

  3. Milk is being sold by him in the shop.

  4. Tennis is being played by children.

  5. Dictation was being written by students.

  6. The dishes are being washed by Helen.

  7. Coffee was being made by Betty.


Task 2: Complete the sentences.

  1. We are painting the room.

The room (is being painted) by (us).

  1. Mike was translating the article.

The article (was being translated) by (Mike) .

  1. Postman is bringing newspapers.

Newspapers (are being brought) by

(postman).

  1. They were preparing the room for the guests.

The room(was being prepared)

for the guests by (them).

  1. The child is playing computer games now.

Computer games (are being played) by (the child) now.


Task 3: Watch the video about the science museum of London.




Task 4: Read the text “The Science Museum of London” and find the sentences with Continuous Passive Voice.

  1. And you can see machines which are being used by people.

  2. The number of collections will grow, because new technologies are being discovered by scientists.



The learners read the given sentences and decide if the verbs are in the Present Continuous Passive form or the Past Continuous Passive form.



They try to prove their answers translating the sentences.








The pupils complete the sentences using the right form of passive voice.



They will complete the gaps on the board one by one, the others write them on their copybooks.













Before reading a text pupils get informed about the scientific museum which is situated in London.


The learners read the text in chain and find the sentences in which are used the present and past passive forms.


They discuss these sentences and translate into their native language.


  1. Consolidation


The teacher shows several pictures.


The pupils raise their hands and make up sentences according to the pictures using the present and past continuous passive forms.



  1. Giving home task


Exercise 1 on page 94.

The task is to complete the sentences using the correct form of the verbs.



The pupils write down the home task in their diaries.




  1. Evaluation


Teacher evaluates the pupils


They bring their diaries to the teacher to put their marks
