Topic of the lesson: Will and going to

The pupils will be able:

   I can talk about how people use mobile phones

Equipment: blackboard, textbook, computer

The procedure of the lesson:

I. Organization moment:

a) Greeting       

- T: Good  morning!

- P: Good morning, teacher!

- T: How are you?

-P: We are fine, thank you!

b) Dialogue with pupils about the day.

-T: Who is on duty today? Who is absent? (Do you know his absent) What date is it today?

-T: Ok. What day of the week is today?

-P: Today is Saturday

-T: Is it winter now?

-P: Yes, it is.

II. Checking up home task.

III. Warming up: Show to pupil video

IV.  Presentation of new  material:

  • Inform the class of the lesson objectives
  • In a stronger class, have a short discussion about the popularity of texting in your

Ex.1, p.56c

Look at the photos in the text and the title

Ex.2, p.55. Study the informal in the Learn this!  Box. Match examples 1-5 will and goimg to in the dialogue with the uses in the box.

Read the Learn this! Box with the class explaining the words prediction,offer, promise, decision and intention. If students have problems, provide more examples or read Grammar Reference 6.2 and 6.4 as a class

We use will for

1 Predictions, especially after I (don’t) think …

I think he’ll like his present.

2Offers and promises 

I’ll  lend you some money

I won’t tell anyone

3 Decision that you make while you are speaking

He isn’t answering  his phone.I’ll send a text

We use going to for

4 Predictions, especially when they’re based on what we can see

Look out! You’re going to drop that computer !

5 Intentions

I’m going to work hard next term

       -Students work individually. Allow a minute

      - In a stronger classes, ask students to explain why they are using will or going to. Elicit which of the five uses in the Learn this! Box the dialogue show.

Work in pairs. Tell your partner your intentions and prediction from exercise 5. Are are any the same as your partners?

Закрепление лексики по теме «Школа».

1) Обеспечить в ходе урока закрепление учащимися лексики по данной теме.

2) Содействовать расширению кругозора.

3) Развивать навыки чтения, говорения.

The procedure of the lesson:

T: Good morning, dear children! Sit down! Who is on duty today? What date is it today? Who is absent today?

How are you today? What’s the weather like today?  What school problems do you have?

The theme of our lesson is "School problems”.  Today we are going to talk about school problems and the ways of solving them.

Ex. 1 p. 112 School children often have complaints about school. What can they complain about? Draw a table of this kind and fill it in.

Ex. 2 p. 113 Compare your diagram with others.

Ex. 3 p. 113 Talk to your partner. What kind of complaints do you have about your school?

Example: I don’t like to wear a school uniform.

Ex. 4 p. 113 Talk to your partner. Do you have any problems with your parents, teachers, classmates?

Ex. 5 p. 113 Read and translate the text.

Role play. Here is the case for School Court discussion: some pupils have missed their classes. School Court should discuss the problem and make a decision.

Divide into 3 groups. Group 1 (Plaintiffs), Group 2 (Defendants) and Group 3 ( Judges). Meet with your group to discuss the problem and your roles. Discuss the case in Court.

Ex. 6 p. 115 Answer the questions.

Ex. 7 p. 115 Say the numbers.

Ex. 8 p. 115 Listen and repeat.
