Theme: “Shopping. Food and drinks”

Aims of the lesson - to develop skills and habits of orall speech, to encourage students to stimulate them to give their own opinions and participate in the discussions and role plays, to practice the four language skills of speaking, listening, reading and writing.

Tasks of the lesson:

Educational tasks - development of skills and habits of speaking, reading, writing.

Developing tasks - development of motivation for learning English, intelligence, memory, attention and imagination.

Bringing up tasks - to create conditions for forming clear knowledge about healthy food, to teach students to work in pairs, groups, to teach to care  for health.

Aids: computer, tape recorder, CD disks, cards with tasks, pictures.

Procedure of the lesson:

I. Organization moment.

-С?леметсіздер ме, балалар!

-Good morning, children!

-Здравствуйте, дети!

-I’m glad to see you. And you?

-Good morning, good morning, good morning to you

-Good morning, dear teacher,

-We are glad to see you.

-Sit down, thank you.

-Girls and boys, tell me, please, how are you today?

-I’m fine.

-I’m good.

-I’m very good.

-I’m great.

-I’m wonderful.

“Hello song”

Hello, hello, hello! How are you?

Hello, hello, hello! How are you?

I’m fine! I’m great! I’m wonderful!

I’m fine! I’m great! I’m wonderful!

-Now let’s begin our English lesson. Today we’ll speak about shopping, shops, healthy food and drinks

II. Consolidation of the vocabulary.

Вкуснотища – very good

Пищу называют food

Это вовсе не каприз,

Сыр мы называем  cheese

Мясо жарится, шкварчит

Мясо по-английски – meat

Арбуз предпочитают сливам,

Арбуз иначе  water – melon

Узнали все впервые, что груша – это  pear

Масло нужно всем ребятам,

Масло по-английски – butter

Без соли борщ не лезет в рот

Соль по-английски – просто salt

Ведро воды не принесёте?

Вода, водичка будет – water

Слива тут и слива там

Слива по-английски – plum.

Виноград мы съели весь.

Виноград – иначе  grape.

III. Listen to the rhyme and repeat after me.

I like fruit

That’s my favourite food

I like cherry

That’s my favourite berry

People like sweets

Especially kids

But don’t give me potato

And I don’t like tomato.

IV. Consolidation of the structures: I like| I don’t like.

I like apple juice.  I don’t like tomato juice.

V. Answering the questions.

Dear boys and girls answer my questions, please

1. Do you like sweets? Yes, I do. No, I don’t.

2. Do you like yogurt? Yes, I do. No, I don’t.

3. Do you like pizza? Yes, I do. No, I don’t

4. Do you like cookies? Yes, I do. No, I don’t.

5. Do you like soup? Yes, I do. No, I don’t.

VI. Find the words. Read and match them with the pictures.

Food: sugar, bread, egg, cereal, cheese.

Drinks: coffee, tea, milk, juice.

VII. “My favourite food”.

Children, tell me please, which is your favourite food?

Make a list of 6 names of food which you like most of all.

Examples: apples, bananas, fish, cheese, milk, pears.

VIII. Now, children, I see you are tired. Let’s have a rest.

Hands up, hands down

Hands on hips and sit down.

Hands on the sides.

Bend left, bend right

Hands on hips

One, two, three, hop.

One, two, three, stop.

IX. Shopping.

Now, are you ready to go to the shop?

What kinds of shops do you know?

1. Greengrocers shop – овощной магазин

2. Baker’s shop – хлебный магазин

3. Butcher’s shop – мясной магазин

4. Dairy’s shop – молочный магазин

Now, the task is: write and say what products do you want to buy in these shops.

Greengrocer’s – apples, bananas, pears, carrots, onions, cucumbers.

Baker’s – bread, cookies, cake.

Butcher’s – meat, sausage, ham

Dairy’s – milk, cheese, yogurt, butter, eggs.

X. “Making salads”.

You came from the shop, you bought products. Now, let’s prepare salads:

1) you will prepare a fruit salad, 2) you will prepare a vegetable salad. Salad will be ready when you will name 4- 5 fruits or vegetables.

XI. Solve the crossword.

1. хлеб

2. сахар

3. сок

4. хлопья

5. молоко

6. кофе

7. яйца

8. чай

9. сыр

10. завтрак

XII. Ending of the lesson.

Girls and boys, we have spoken about shopping,   food  and drinks at our lesson. You must remember if you want to be strong and healthy, you must eat only  healthy food and don’t eat too much.

Children, tell me, please, do you like today’s lesson?

-Yes, we do.  We like today’ lesson.Yes, I do. I like today’s lesson.

We spoke about shopping, shops and healthy food. I knew that fruits, vegetables are healthy food, sweets, sugar, meat are  unhealthy  food.

Boys and girls, if you liked today’s lesson  very much - show me the  red cards, if you liked our lesson- show me the   blue cards, if you don’t liked today’s lesson- show me the  violet cards. Now, thank you very much.
