Цели урока “The Place we Live in. Flats and Houses”.

Развивающая: развивать память, воображение учащихся, развивать умение применять полученные знания в новых разговорных ситуациях.

Воспитательная: развивать инициативу, самостоятельность, навыки работы в парах, языковую догадку, а также прививать интерес к разговорному английскому языку; получение новых знаний о жизни в Великобритании.

Образовательная: совершенствовать умения и навыки учащихся в устной речи, аудировании, чтении с извлечением необходимой информации.

Оборудование урока: учебник и рабочая тетрадь «Strarlight – 5 класс», презентация, аудио.

Организационный момент (Приветствие, определение целей урока).	Good morning, boys and girls. I am glad to see you. I think you are ready for the lesson. Let’s start. Look at the pictures and learn the subject of our lesson. That’s right! The topic of our lesson today is “The Place we Live in. Flats and Houses”.	We are going to talk about our house.	Slide 1. Pictures: rooms, appliances, furniture.	Frontal	2 min.
Self – Assessment Forms	There are some sheets of paper on your tables, called “I can..” They will help us to estimate your knowledge. Please choose the point that you like best of all.	The students work with the self-assessment lists.
Warming-up/Ice-breaker. (Фонетическая зарядка)	I want you to begin our lesson with the poem “Pussy’s flat.”	To read the poem after the teacher; To read it out.	Slide 2. Poem. “Pussy’s Flat” Our Pussy cat has got a nice flat. It has a yellow door And a brown floor. The walls are white, All the flat is bright.	Frontal.	3-4 min.
Активизация ранее изученного лексического материала.	Now, let’s play the game. Imagine what things, what furniture can you find in Pussy’s flat and name them. If you call out a word which someone has already mentioned, you are out of the game.	The students name the words.		Frontal.	3 min.
Describing the house.	Well-done! Please, look at this nice picture. This is Pussy’s living-room. Your task is to describe Pussy’s living-room in pairs. For example: “There is a sofa next to the piano”.	The students work in pairs and describe Pussy’s living-room.	Slide 3. The photo of Pussy’s living-room and the example “There is a sofa next to the piano”.	Pair Work.	5 min.
The description of Pussy’s living-room.		The students say a sentence by chain.			5 min.
The students answer some questions about themselves.	Pussy lives in a flat. And what about you? Where do you live? Do you like your house/flat? Is it comfortable?	The students: “I live in a flat. I like my flat very much, because it is very comfortable and cosy/warm/large”.	Slide 4. Where do you live? Do you like your house/flat? Is it comfortable?		2-3min.
Listening to the dialogue “Describing your home”.	Now, let’s meet Kate and Sue. Open your students’ books at page 31 exercise 1. Listen to the dialogue and say what they are talking about. ______________________________ Kate likes her new flat very much. In exercise1 you’ve got some questions. Let’s read them and translate. Go back to your dialogue again please and find the synonymous phrases.	The students listen to the dialogue and answer the question. ____________________________ The students read out the questions. Making up the dialogues.	It’s high time to know some information about your own houses. Look through the dialogues once again and make up your dialogues.	The students create their dialogues.		Pair Work
The end of the lesson. Home task.	Thank you for your work. Let’s work with our “I can...”lists. I want you to finish with them. Look at them carefully once again. Are there any changes? Tell me what have you known today? Did you like the lesson? What new things can you do now? At home you are to do exercise in your workbook p. 17 ex. 4 (The teacher explains the task in WB)	The students do some analysis.
