УРОКА АНГЛИЙСКОГО ЯЗЫКА В 9 КЛАССЕ

Тема: « Объединенное королевство Великобритании и Северной Ирландии»

Подтема: «Лондон – столица Великобритании»

Тип урока: урок обобщения и систематизации знаний и умений.

ЗАДАЧИ:

Практические:

• организовать употребление лексических единиц в речи учащихся на уровне слова, словосочетания, предложения, сверхфразового единства;

• ознакомить учащихся со структурой «to be going to…» и научить оперированию данной структурой в собственной речи учащихся на уровне предложения;

• научить аудировать текст «At the travel agency» в звукозаписи;

• научить учащихся читать текст вслух с общим охватом его содержания;

• научить учащихся вести диалог-расспрос в связи с изобразительной ситуацией по теме «Объяснение маршрута»;

• организовать монологическое высказывание учащихся по теме урока;

• организовать повторение грамматических структур Present Simple, Present Continuous; организовать тренировку по оперированию данными структурами.

Воспитательные:

• воспитывать у учащихся чувство дружбы и уважения к народам англоязычных стран;

• воспитывать волю, настойчивость в преодолении трудностей;

• воспитывать культуру общения;

• формировать эстетические вкусы учащихся;

• воспитывать у учащихся добросовестность и честность в выполнении заданий;

IN LONDON’S FAIR CITY

Good morning, boys and girls!

T. Today we have got an unusual lesson. The topic of our lesson is “In London’s fair city”. It will be the lesson of general conclusion of knowledge habits and skills.

I’m sure you’ve got much information about this wonderful city at your English lessons. And now you will have a good opportunity to show your knowledge in our imaginary trip around the city. During the trip you’ll solve some problems and take part in some projects.

I wish you success. Well, it’s time to begin.

1. SPEECH EXERCISE.

T. Well done. Look at the map of London, the photos of the city. Do you recognize the city in the photos? What city is it?

P. It is London.

T. Do you want to visit London?

2. PHONETIC EXERCISE.

T. Look at the map of London. It is big and magnificent. We can’t see everything in one day, but you can read a lot about it to know some facts about London.

Dear David,

How are you? I’m fine. I’m in London, at the International School of English. I’m in class 3 with eight other students. They’re all from different countries- Spain, France, Japan, Argentina, Switzerland, and Thailand. Our teacher’s name is Peter Briscall. He’s very nice. He’s very nice. He’s funny and he’s a very good teacher.

My new address is at the top of the letter. I’m with an English family, the Browns. Mr. and Mrs. Brown have three children. Thomas is fourteen, Catherine is twelve, and Andrew is seven. They are all very friendly, but it isn’t easy to understand them!

London is very big and very big and very interesting. The weather is good- cold but sunny –and the parks are beautiful! Hyde Park, Green Park, and St. James’ Park are all in the centre. It isn’t easy to use the Underground, but I understand it now. It’s very expensive!

T. We can’t go from London without souvenirs, that’s why we go shopping and attend the famous supermarket Harrods, which is situated in Elizabeth Street. If you don’t know where it is you can ask the way from a passer-by.

P1 – Hallo, John! How did you like your visit to London? I was there long ago for two day only. I seem to remember nothing but Trafalgar Square, Hyde Park and Piccadilly Circus in particular.

P2 – No wonder Lena. Piccadilly is the heart of London’s rich West End, the place of entertainment and amusement. I’m sure you also remember Regent Street and Bond Street – the main shopping streets and the centers of fashion.

P1- Did you happen to be in Fleet Street or in Soho?

P2 – Yes I did. Fleet Street is the best known street of the British Press. Soho is the name of the famous cosmopolitan area of London, the district of restaurants, film- companies and theatres.

P1- I remember Dr. Johnson to say: “When a man is tired of London he is tired of life, for there is in London all that life can afford.”
