The theme “Sport ”

Objectives: SWBAT learn new words related to sport.
To develop student’s listening, reading, speaking and writing skills.

Equipment: English book for 2nd grade of Rakhymzhanova S. D, Volkova A. S,

student’s book, CD, pictures of different kinds of sports, cards,

Type of lesson: New lesson

Procedure of Lesson:

1. Org Moment.
Teacher:
- Good morning, good morning, good morning to you.
- Good morning, good morning, I’m glad to see you!
Pupils:
- Good morning, good morning we are glad to see you!
- How are you?
- We are fine!

-Who is on duty today? Who is absent today?

What day is it today? What date is it today?

What is the weather like today?

P: I think the weather is cold today because: It’s snowy.

a.Checking up home work.

Reading the text

Meet Bibissara.She is pupil. She plays sports but she doesn,t run, she doesn,t jump.She plays chess. Chess is a sport too. She,s a chess champion.

b. Phonetic drill.

c.Warming up.

- It’s a football. Yes. It is.

2. Presentation of new words. Teacher: Dear pupils! Look at the picture,

listen and repeat after me.
Football, basketball, volleyball,hockey, skating, tennis.

The theme of our lesson is “Sport ”. During this lesson we will revise vocabulary about sport, will read, write, listen to the text and speak about sport.

Pupils do you enjoy sport?

Do you remember the poem “Football”? Let’s recite it together.

(Pupils recite the poem)

b.Let’s play a “Snowball” game

Now I suggest you play game. Look at this word (Ball). You should make up words connected with sport which begin with the letters forming the word “Ball”.

Read the text with blanks and prepare the questions to other groups to find the missing information.
