The objectives of the lesson: Education: • summarize the received knowledge about explorers. Developing: • broaden the horizons of the students, develop memory, attention.
• development of creative abilities. Education: • ability to work in a team. Practical: • development of all kinds of speech activity (listening, reading, speaking, writing).
Visual aids: cards, pictures,interactive board,books, copybooks,tables Connection of the subject: Kazakh language, History

II. Dividing into three groups. (traces- yellow,blue,red)
- Good morning, children. I’m glad to see you and I wish you a good lesson. At this lesson we are going to repeat everything we have learnt at our last lessons. Look at the blackboard and try to guess what will be the theme of our lesson today by the pictures on it.( Setting objectives)
The theme of our lesson is “Famous travellers”. Today we’ll make a journey with our famous travellers too. Let’s go!
First of all we’ll start from the checking your home task.
Now, let’s check your vocabulary and play the Castle game. We have a map with words which we learnt, the winner will be that team which is the first will finish. Let;s go!
Ok, it was great! Now, let’s speak about Shokan Ualikhanov.
1.When Shokan Ualikhanov was born? He was born in 1835.
2.Who was Shokan Ualikhanov? He was a Kazakh scientist , ethnographer and a historian.

6.Where Shokan Ualikhanov go for his first successful expedition? To the region of Issyk Kul.
7.When did Shokan begin his second expedition? On June, 28 /1858
8.What did he do during his travels? He collected a lot of materials.
9.Why did he return to native steppe? Because he was ill.
10.When did Shokan Ualikhanov die? In April ,1865.

Read the short information about three famous travellers. Can you guess who the text is about?

He was born in England in 1728. He made three voyages to different places: the Pacific Ocean, Australia, New Zealand, Hawaii, the Antarctic, and Arctic. He discovered the Hawaiian Islands.(James Cook) 2nd slide:
He was born in Italy in 1451. He was a sailor and made many voyages. In 1492 he started a journey with three ships. It was long and difficult. He discovered America in 1492.(Christopher Columbus) 3rd slide:
He was born in Russia in 1839. He travelled to unknown parts of Central Asia. His journeys opened a new era for the study of geography, fauna and flora of Central Asia.(Nikolai Przhewalski)
