Класс –5

Тема – «Традиции Великобритании и США. Хэллоуин»

Место урока в тематическом планировании: Раздел «Страны и традиции»

Тип урока: Знакомство с традициями англоязычных стран.

ПрактическиеЗадачи:

1)формировать социокультурную компетенцию по теме; 2) учить целеполаганию; 3) развивать навыки смыслового чтения; 4) практиковать устноречевые умения учащихся

Развивающие

1)развивать навыки работы в группе; 2) языковую догадку;

1) воспитывать толерантное отношение к проявлениям иной культуры

Планируемые результаты

Оснащение:

Средства мультимедиа, аппликационный материал, карточки с заданиями и инструкциями, костюмы. Класс украшен символами Хэллоуина.

It’s Halloween! It’s

Halloween!

The moon is full and bright.

And we shall see what

Can’t be seen

Skeletons and ghosts and

ghouls

Grinning goblins fighting

duels

Werewolves rising from

Their tombs,

Witches on their magic brooms.

In masks and gowns we

Haunt the street

And knock on doors for

Trick or treat.

Tonight we are the king

And queen,

For all tonight it’s

Halloween!

Good morning! Welcome to our HALLOWEEN PARTY!

Halloween is a very popular festival in both Britain and the USA. It is celebrated on the 31^st of October, the eve of ALL SAINT’S DAY. This holiday marks the end of autumn and the beginning of winter.

Halloween is one of the best holidays for children. They wear masks and colourful costumes of ghosts, witches , werewolves and black cats to scare evil spirits which are especially active on this day.

Look, how many strange guests have come to our party! Let’s greet them and listen to their stories:

HALLOWEEN POEMS FOR KIDS

Halloween is a fun night

With lots of things to see.

There are black cats,

And giant bats,

Let’s take a look, shall we?

Vampire

Vampires have pale white skin

They just come out at night

Give one half a chance and he

Will give your neck a bite.

Witch

A witch flies past on her broomstick,

Over the roof of your house.

It would be better

Not to upset her,

She’d turn you into a mouse.

Skeleton

Skeletons walk about the town.

They have no skin, just bone.

Sometimes for fun they play their ribs

Just like a xylophone.

Ghost

I am a spooky ghost

Being scary’s what I do.

I like to sneak behind people

And whisper softly «Wooooo!»

Mummy

I come from ancient Egypt

They call me the mummy.

Bandages cover my arms, my legs,

My head, my chest, my tummy.

Grim Reaper

The grim reaper looks very scary,

But it’s not really what he intends.

With his scythe and his hood,

He is misunderstood,

He really just wants to be friends.

Werewolf

The sun is going down,

It will be night time soon.

The werewolf will be coming out

And howling at the moon.

Demon

With its scary horns and giant wings

Everyone’s scared of the demon.

All he has to do is smile,

And people run off screaming.

1. Look around! You can see the symbols of HALLOWEEN everywhere!

Teams, your first task is to find as many pictures as possible and match them with the words.

1. Another popular tradition is Bobbing for Apples.

Watch us bobbing for an apple,

For an apple, apple, apple

But no apple, apple, apple,

Not an apple can I get.

Oh I cannot get an apple,

Not one apple, apple, apple,

Though my sister got an apple,

All I got was soaking wet.

A person must get an apple out of a tub of water without using hands. He tries to get an apple using his teeth.

1. On Halloween children decorate their houses and schools in the traditional colours: black and orange. Popular images are witches, black cats, ghosts, skeletons, spiders, haunted houses and jack-o-lanterns.

Jack-o-lanterns are pumpkins. People carve them to look like faces and put them on the window-sills.

He is a fearful sight.

If I were you, I‘d be afraid

To meet him in the night.

By day he is a pumpkin,

But just you wait ‘til night.

When out of eyes and nose

and mouth

There shines a yellow light.

1. Are you good at throwing balls? Let’s have a look!

2. Children also play «Trick or Treat» on Halloween. They dress up in scary costumes and walk door to door in the neighborhood, shouting « trick or treat». Most people give them a treat –

candy or fruit, but if they don’t - children play a trick on them and run away.

1. Finally, we’d like to give you advice:

If in the dark you’re frightened,

Here’s all you have to do. Say:

These words give you protection

From ghosts and witches, too. Say:

So if at night a monster

Should whisper, «I’ll get you», yell:

Dinkadanka doo.
