Language material: comparative and superlative adjectives

Equipment: cards, the famous people’s portraits, a map of the world

The procedure of the lesson

I Organization moment

Good morning, pupils! I am glad to see you at our lesson. What date is it today? What day of the week is it today? Who is on duty today? What season is it now?

II Warm up (Who wants to pronounce quickly the following patters, let’s try after me.

I slit the sheet, the sheet I slit, and on the slitted sheet I sit

A gentle judge just judges justly

Barbara burned the brown bread badly

III Checking up home work

(Ex. 7 Compare supermarkets and corner stores. To retell the text. Ex.5. Giving cards)

IV Follow up activity

A) Speech drill

What is your favourite season of the your? Why?

Which season is the coldest?

Is summer warmer than autumn?

Which is the hottest season?

How many months are there in the year?

Name the spring months.

Which season is rainy?

B) Reading and translating “Do you know…? paying attention to the superlative adjectives Ex.1, p.61

C Complete the sentences Ex2. p.62
