Theme: “After School”

Aims of the lesson:

  • to develop pupils’ abilities of reading, writing and speaking;
  • to revise the formation of Present Simple and frequency of adverbs, to increase their word-stock and teach them to speak about free time activities;
  • to bring up their interests and teach them to respect each other and their teachers.

Visual aids: an interactive board, slides, cards, the English book, CD

The methods of the lesson:  question-answer, game ‘Mime the action’, individual  work,  pair- work.
Visual aids of the lesson: an interactive board, slides,  video  about  free time.

The procedure of the lesson:
 

І. Organization moment

Good afternoon, pupils. Sit down. Today we    have      an  open  lesson.  At   first   I want  you  to  be more active  at the lesson and show your knowledge of English.

 

II. Asking   the   homework.   To write an essay about ‘My  Day’

 

III. Presentation of the new theme: ‘After School’

Very well, pupils look at me let’s open the numbers with letters.

The 1st letter of English alphabet is   A

The 6th letter of English alphabet is   F

The 20th letter of English alphabet is T

The 5th letter of English alphabet is   E

The 18th letter of English alphabet is  R

The 19th letter of English alphabet is  S

The 3rd letter of English alphabet is   C

The 8th letter of English alphabet is   H

The 15th letter of English alphabet is O

The 15th letter of English alphabet is O

The 12th letter of English alphabet is  L

Very nice. New theme of our lesson is “After School”

  • What words come to your mind when we hear about “After School”? Let’s do the association:
  • Do home work, go to the park, go rollerblading, listen to music, play games, watching  TV, read books …

Let’s revise the new words which given at the previous lesson with help of pictures on the screen. Now pupils look at the screen. Match  the  words  with  the  pictures.

At the previous lesson we acquainted with the formation of Present Simple and adverbs of frequency. Let’s revise it! Give examples

For example:

  1. I live in Kyzylorda
  2. Maral usually comes to school
  3. We often watch TV at night
  4. Asel rarely makes a mistake
  5. I sometimes drink tea with dinner
  6.  They seldom go to the movies
     

IY. Sing Song “If you are happy …”

If you’re happy and know it Clap your hands,

If you’re happy and know it Clap your hands.

If you’re happy and know it and really one to show it

If you’re happy and know it Clap your hands!

Y. Video “My School”

Now let’s see a video about school.

YI. Listen and read. Why is Saturday special?

OK, open your books at page 10, exercise 1. Listen to the dialogue very attentively. Then you’ll read.

- Why is Saturday special?

- Because this Saturday is national NO TV Day.

Exercise 7. Put the questions. Then interview a friend.

  1. A. When do you go to the park?

      B. I usually go on Fridays after school.

2. What do you do there?  - I often play board games with my friends

3. What do you do after school? – I go rollerblading with my pet dog

4. Do you always study in the evening? – Yes, I do

5. When do you play a sport? – On Sundays I play football with my friends
