The aim of the lesson		Describing jobs , talking about jobs , making predictions, sharing ideas To enrich students ‘knowledge concerning the theme. To develop communicative skills and abilities through different communicative activities;
The expected results		say what happened in the past write about an imaginary person’s life
The main idea		-create “Word band” based on the theme “Occupations” -Pronunciation “Occupations” -Working out: past form of the verb “to be”
Visual aids		a textbook, CD, cards, pictures

Teacher notes about the lesson

(What will the teacher and pupils do during the lesson?)

I.Greeting: T: Good afternoon, dear pupils!
T: How are you, today? Are you ready for lesson? New English teacher.

T: Well, pupils, at first, let’s check the class atmosphere.

Who is on duty today?

Is anybody absent today?

What is the date today?
What day is it today?
What season is it now?
Do you like autumn?

What month is it now?
What is the weather like today?

II. Dividing into groups:

1^st group: Actors

2^nd group: Writers

3^rd group: Painters

III.Warm-up: Look at the papers with the table on your desks. Take your pens and look at the white board. Follow the instructions:

With your right hands draw a big circle and with the left hands draw a big triangle
With your right hands draw three circles and with the left hands draw three triangles
With your right hand write your names and with your left hands write your surnames

IV. Brainstorming:

Look at the pictures and match them with the names of professions.

VII. New theme:

Pair work:

Ex 2 FACT or FICTION? Who were they? Match the photos with the names in the quiz.
There are four mistakes in the quiz. Can you find them? Listen check and find the mistakes.

KEY GRAMMAR: the past form of the verb “to be”

Grammar practice:

Ex 4 p 117 Complete the questions with was or were. And answer the questions.

Group work:

Albert Einstein was a scientist.

Actors	Writers	Painters
Make a little role play or a sketch about Albert Einstein.	Write some information about Albert Einstein. Biography, hobby, profession, family One of your group’s members will be a speaker.	Draw and paint some pictures connected with the biography, hobby, profession, family of Albert Einstein. One of your group’s members will be a speaker.

Warm up: Listen to the sentences about famous people from the past and test yourself.

Salvador Dali was a painter.
Abay Kunanbayev was a poet.
Pablo Picasso was a great teacher.
Mozart was a composer
Ybray Altynsarin was a teacher.
Michael Jackson was a scientist.
Cristopher Comumbus was a painter.
Leonardo da Vinchi was a doctor.
Kazhymukhan Munaitpasov was a sportsman.
William Shakespeare was an actor.

Group work: Venn diagram: Write similarities and differences of chosen occupations:

Reading, guessing and matching:

Group work: Read the sentences about types of occupation and put the card into the right box.
