 Theme of the lesson :   Magic ABC  .

Aim of the lesson :

• Revision of English ABC;
• To develop skills in retelling poems;
• Revision of the themes :”Colors”, “Numbers” and “English Proverbs” ;
• To train phonetic drills;
• To develop the pupils  ability in speaking English;
• To consolidate the vocabulary;
• To develop the interest to the subject.

Aids of the lesson: Presentation of the lesson, interactive board and cards, pictures.

Type of the lesson :  extra  curricular  work.

Approximate time : 35 min.

                               Lesson procedure:

I. Motivation: (Slide 1)

- Good morning, boys and girls, parents and teachers!

- Good morning!

-I am glad to see you! Welcome to our ABC party! Sit down, please.

II. Phonetic-drill;

- Well, let`s begin our English party. Today we shall make an interesting and funny travelling from A to Z. Do you want to start?

Let`s sing ABC song.

III. «Magic letters» (Slide 2) 

 -Answer my questions, please:

-How many letters are there in the English alphabet?

-There are 26 letters in English ABC.

-How many consonants are there?

-There are 20 consonants in English ABC.

-And what about the vowels?

-There are 6 vowels in English ABC.

Very good! And now our children will recite the poems about the English letters. We shall begin with the first letter of the English alphabet. (Slide 3-29)

D is for Dog

and for Doggy.

I have a dog,

not a doggy.

5. Letter E

E is for Eight

and for Eleven.

How much is

eight and eleven?

6. Letter F

F is for Flowers:

red and blue,

White and yellow

and rosy, too.

7. Letter G

G is for Girl,

and also for Garden.

I see a girl going

to the garden.

8. Letter H

H is for Hand.

I have two hands.

This is the way

I clap my hands.

9. Letter I

I is for I.

I'm a boy,

and I'm ten.

I like to play  with my brother Ben..

10. Letter J

J is for Jam.

This is apple jam.

Jimmy likes it,

and so does Sam.

11. Letter К

К is for Kite.

Kate has a kite.

It is little,

and it is white.

12. Letter L

L is for Letter.

This letter is for me.

It is from my sister,

as you can see.

13. Letter M

M is for May

and for May Day,

For March and for

Mother's Day.

14. Letter N

N is for Nine,

Ninety and Ninety-nine.

Children, how much is

ninety and nine?

15. Letter О

О is for One.

One and two is three.

Three little cats

are in a tree.

16. Letter P

P is for Pencils.

With them I can draw:

A red pen, a green tree

or a blue door.

17. Letter Q

Q is for Questions:

How are you?

How old are you?

and How do you do?

18. Letter R

R is for Red.

Many things are red.

What can be red?

S is for Street.

This is my street.

There are a lot of trees

in my street.

20. Letter T

T is for Tick

and for Tock

"Tick-tock",

says the clock.

21. Letter U

U is for Under,

but not for At.

"I'm under the tree,"

says Pat.

V is in Five

and also in Seven,

It is in Twelve

and in Eleven.

23. Letter W

W is for Winter

when it is cold.

But I like winter

and I like cold.

 24. Letter X

X is in Six.

Let's count up to six!

One, two, three,

four, five, six!

25. Letter Y

Y is for a Yard

where children play.

They play in the yard

every day.

26. Letter Z

Z is for the Zoo.

Let's go to the Zoo.

I like to go to the Zoo.

 IV.  “ Wonderful  Colors” (Slide 30)

- I see you know the ABC very well, but do you know the names of the colours?

Tell me what colour is apple? (It is red).

What colour is banana? (It is yelow).

What colour is a pear ? (It is green).

What colour is an orange? (It is orange).

What colour is a tomato? (It is red).

What colour is a carrot? (It is orange).  (Slide 30)

- Well done! And now we shall see how well you can write the names of the colours. We shall play the game. It is called “Scrambled words”.You see all the letters are mixed. Take you pens and write the right words on your paper. (Раздаточный материал — Scrambled words “Colours”).
