Ход урока

1.Организационный момент

Good morning, children. Let’s start our lesson.

Look at the screen, please.There are many beautiful pictures here, they

look so attractive, appetizing and delicious. That’s why I think you can guess that

the theme of our lesson is…

Pupils: …..

You are right! The theme is “Eating habits”

Many years ago our ancestors said : “Live not to eat but eat to live”

Comrades, today we’ll practice in reading, we’ll learn about fast food fashion in

Britain, we’ll talk about your tastes for food, we’ll puzzle our brains.

2. Фонетическая зарядка.


Look at the blackboard, please. Read these words after me.

Betty Botter bought some butter,

"But," she said, "this butter's bitter.

If I bake this bitter butter,

It will make my batter bitter.

But a bit of better butter -

That would make my batter better."

So she bought a bit of butter,

Better than her bitter butter,

And she baked it in her batter,

And the batter was not bitter.

So 'twas better Betty Botter

Bought a bit of better butter.


3. Речевая зарядка

And now I think you know the words very well and you can answer my questions.

1. What do you usually have for breakfast?

2. Where do you usually have lunch?

3. Do you like dairy products?

4. Do you like ice-cream in winter?

5. Who prepares meals in your family?

6. What is your favourite dish?

7. Do you go to cafes and restaurants?

Our next task is listening

Kristina: - How many people did you invite to the dinner tonight?

Kristina’s mother: -There will be just you, me, dad, your brother and grandma.

Kristina: - Very well. What are you going to cook?

Kristina’s mother: - Your father and grandma don’t like any exotic cuisine, that’s why I’d like to make a traditional beef stew! I know the awesome recipe.

Kristina: - Good choice! What do we need to cook it?

Kristina’s mother: - So, we need 900 g chuck steak, 25 g lard, 2 medium onions, 225 g button mushrooms, 2 carrots, 1 stick celery, 1 teaspoon English Mustarol. Besides, there should be 1 sachet bouquet garni, 2 tablespoon plain flour and 25 g butter. Honey, could you please pre-heat oven to 300o F?

Kristina: - Sure. I have already bought all these things this morning. What comes next?

Kristina’s mother: -Slice the carrots, stick celery and melt some butter, while I’m trimming and cubing the chuck steak and dicing the onions. Heat the lard in casserole and brown the beef in it.

Kristina: - Ok, please, add the onions, vegetables and mustard to beef.

Kristina’s mother: - Good job, Kristina! add the bouquet garni, cover the casserole and leave it in the oven for 2 hours.

Kristina: - As I know we should check and stir it every 40 minutes, right?

Kristina’s mother: - You are absolutely right.We may also decorate it with green-stuff and serve it in pots. Set out the table and bring the napkins, please. I bought a wonderful dessert. I hope that our family will like it! This is a big yellow layer cake with chocolate buttercream frosting. There is the original recipe of this cake on the box, and I could make it by myself next time.

Kristina: - That sounds really great! I'd be more than happy to help you next time.

5. Развитие навыков говорения


Look at the screen , read the verbs and explain in English their meaning.

Look at the screen and make your own sentences using kitchen conversions


Далее учащиеся обсуждают правила составления рецептов ( две части) , разбирая образец из учебника на стр.32.

 6. Конкурс по созданию рецептов

Вид работы- работа в малых группах.

T: - Now we have our cooking test. There will be 3 teams of chefs. Each team has got the task to write the recipe for their dish. Don’t forget to write in the recipe the name of the dish, the ingredients and directions. You have 3 minutes to do this task. Present your recipes.

Обучающиеся представляют рецепты своих блюд.

7. Подведение итогов, рефлексия и домашнее задание. 

Thank you for your work. We have done a lot for our recipe-book.

Look at the blackboard and say what we have done.

  1. choose the picture /We have chosen the picture;

  2. make the list of dishes/ We have made the list of popular dishes;

  3. learn to cook/ We have learnt the way to cook;

  4. Write recipes / We have written our recipes.

I hope you enjoyed our lesson both boys and girls. And you will enjoy cooking. Describe your mood ….
